Well, all I can do is wait and see. I called paul today and asked if they'd cracked it open yet, and they have not. I asked if the 3 week turn around was still good and he said they had a couple engines before mine but it wouldn't be long. We'll see.

I've never dealt with IRP before this, but I've gotten used to waiting a really long time for anything rotary related. Order an intake or exhaust from RB and it's a 3 month wait. My tranny rebuild was supposed to be a 4 week turn-around but took 3 months. My rear end was gonna be 8-12 weeks but took 6 months. I'm ready to drop the motor in now but it's not a daily, so,.... I wait.

I'll post again when I hear from them.

Not speaking to any shop in particular here, but I think that's just a bad way to run a business. Maybe I've just been lucky and my experiences at the two rotary shops I've dealt with have been unique? No idea. I will say that poor communication isn't an excuse, though. I had an appointment to get my diff changed out, shop called me a week in advance and told me they had to move the appointment back because of workload. I'd much rather have that than the false expectations and delays.

We have hired someone for the shipping/receiving position. This will allow our staff to focus more on their individual tasks and catch up. Still have tech and shop hand positions available.

Just an update on the issue itself, I actually managed to receive one of the orders I made from IRP, I cancelled my other order of gaskets and was told I would receive a refund from them on February 1st, it has been more than a month without any sort of refund from the company, I am going to make a claim through PayPal to receive the funds they STILL have not sent back to me. They have 100% lost any future business I would have done with them in order to complete my build.

Unfortunately this is the state of the industry right now and we have no control over parts that are out of stock. You are more than welcome to go elsewhere and wait there. We are doing the best we can and unfortunately there will always be someone we cannot make happy. We wish you the best with completing your build.

I'm just looking for a refund for my gasket order, nothing more. I've contacted your company through every form of communication and received no response, unless someone else is running the forum account vs. the company emails this seems super unprofessional that you would respond to forum posts and not actual customers looking for support with their orders.

I eventually ended up getting my gaskets from my local Mazda dealership months ago who had them in stock as other forum members pointed me to the right direction.

No resolution for me yet, unfortunately. I've been sending a follow up semi-regularly every 2 weeks since late Jan, which is when I was told it would be looked into, but that it might take a bit.

I didn't provide any background previously, but it's a weird & unfortunate issue: I took delivery last July, and the car ran mostly fine since I did. I ended up pulling the engine during this past winter in order to get the car repainted, and when doing so, realized that the Haltech ECU Bracket only had the ECU and the WB02. I was shorted a Haltech I/O Expander (and flying lead). If it was like $100 & this wasn't just an average shop, I'd just let it go, but this is ~$500 and like to feel comfortable using them again in the future.

I'm intentionally keeping this short...

I experienced a pretty long lead time and some emails that seemed to get ignored for about 1 month after I paid for one of their upgraded alternators, but calling via phone got everything cleared up. The IRP alternator works better than the worn-out OEM one, the voltage at idle and high RPM is good.

I am having issues with response times as well... trying to resolve a matter.... I understand the situation, but sometimes some emails go a long way.
I would be very pleased that I have so much business that I can't keep up lack of staffing or not, but to each their own I guess. Hopefully they will get with me soon.

My apologies. We are super short staffed and I was at the Deals Gap Rotary Rally. We are currently out of braces and in the process of a redesign as the materials have tripled in price. I do not have an eta at this moment.

No, not yet. They called me a few weeks ago to settle the balance and sent me some pics of the fresh paint, but haven't heard anything since.

This car has taught me to be patient. I came from Subarus, and '70-80's Chevy's before that. If this was an '85 Camaro, '65 Mustang or 2002 WRX I would have completed the resto years ago. But it's an '85 RX-7, so it takes 4x as long to have anything rebuilt or delivered.

But, Tom......on another note I did a bunch more research on apex.... you still set on the I rotary? I would make damn sure your timing isn't too hot.

Could I buy the CAD file instead and have it cut locally? Lol

That is not an option unfortunately as it is proprietary.
