Intercoolers on stock boost
been shopping around for intercoolers, I was thinking of a front mount verses the V mount, what are the advantages of each? and why are the price ranges so different for the kits?
id prefer a front mount to free up some space, i figured with the room saved I could install a stronger fan to deal with cooling issues.
on the front mount intercooler itself, what size would be best for stock boost, if i pick one up it would be via ebay with a piping kit that has all the correct bends i found, the only conflict ive found is they only offer 3 in or 2 in inlets, and all the piping is 2.5, so id need a 3 in inlet intercooler with a reducer to 2.5. any thoughts on the matter?

I disagree that a V-mount results in compromised temps...I've ran on the track with another FD with a v-mount and know that's not the case....
Anyway, this topic has been debated to death....please use the search function....use the terms "fmic" "smic" "vmic" or "v-mount". You will find many good long threads.
In any case, you don't need a better intercooler to run stock boost....

If you're going to stick with stock boost and not track the car just save your money and stay with the stock intercooler. It's fine for most street use at stock power levels.
