Intercooler Question?

I am stuck between some choices, and I hope u guys can help me out. If you guys had a choice (if money wasn't a factor), would a v-mount be better than a front mount? Or vice versa. I was thinking of getting the 32 row greddy frount mount or the Rotary Extreme v-mount. Which one would you guys think is best for my situation if I plan on having a 450-500 hp street car. I probably will get flamed for this post, but oh well. I except all punishments. If you guys can help me out, that would be really be greatfull.

Front mount. They are further away from the motor (heat) so they should cool better. And they look to kill.

That's what I hear. It is better to run a v-mount kit for track use. However, I want to have a street car.

I've often wondered that myself, I plan on upgrading the IC at some point. I don't really want a front mount, because I'm probably sticking with the stock front bumper, and I'm not sure the effectiveness of a front mount can be had without the added airflow of an aftermarket front.

V-mounts also seem easier to install. Just another thing to think about.

Personally, I'm not sold on V-Mounts. I think they are a good product, but I don't think they are "the best thing since sliced bread".

You are ultimately trying to have a 500hp street car, so I assume you'll be going with a single turbo. What I would recommend is looking in the Single Turbo section for people using the same turbo you are looking to use. See what IC they prefer with that turbo and go from there.

They all have thier issues. Really though I think a properly designed Vmount with ducting and a splitter is the best overall compromise. Especially with a few other tricks I've been thinking about. I'm in the middle of designing one and having it made. Should work out to be awesome.

If you go with Chucks V mount and you want to make a reliable 500rwhp you need to go with the larger V mount. The small one is going to be very borderline with the air flow required for 500rw. Get ready to spend some $ though, V mounts are pretty expensive (eventhough you do get more since it has a radiator).

If your interested in mine PM me, the only thing is I prob wont be done for a couple months.
