What intercooler piping should I buy for the stock intercooler?
And do I need the injector harness?

The Greddy two piece IC piping kit is a great choice! I would not recommend the three piece kit as it requires some slight relocation of the IC to ensure the IC pipe that connects to the cross over pipe (from the y-pipe) doesn't rub against the main pulley (at least that's my experience).

Good Luck!

have fun trying to order from the rx7store! I recently ordered this kit (3 piece greddy) from them and it took three and a half weeks for him to tell me they are back ordered and had no idea when they would be on my door step, then he gave me my money back and never told me up front what the deal was, go to a authorized greddy reseller like gotham racing. they had it sitting on the shelf and sent me a tracking # the next day. I would say that they know how to run a business the right way, unlike others. my boy has the three piece kit and stock intercooler and the s shaped pipe does come close to the pully but fits good, they never shift or move around so he has never had an issue. good luck

I'd say save your money. Unless you never plan on upgrading your IC.

YES. Why blow a couple of hundred bucks pointlessly replacing the stock piping (which works fine)? Put that money toward functional mods, engine rebuild fund, Ramen fund, etc. The cost of that piping is almost half the cost of a decent used aftermarket SMIC.

I had to replace my stock intercooler s- pipe and was quoted 186.00 from Sprayin' Ray so I decided to get the hard pipes since I am not upgrading the intercooler or turbo. That is a rediculous price for that part. Also I meant rotary performance not gotham for the pipe kit.

Thanx everyone for the advice, the reason for replacement is under higher boost levels/heat the piping comes off. No matter how hard it is tighted still comes off. I found www.racerwheel.com who sell it the cheapest I've found. But I'm still wondering if I should order with injector holder???

Get better clamps and couplers....

Get the elbow WITHOUT the injector holders.

I agree with rynberg. Buy a used SMIC and get reliablility with peace of mind. Or at least better hose clamps.

While I still had the stock IC, I had a reoccuring problem with the back of the stock lower IC hose splitting open. I found a used lower hose and used a large band (scavenged from the sanitary hardware at home depot) to keep it from expanding under pressure. I never had a problem again. Don't know if that's your problem, but there is a cheap fix.

Just replace the stock pipes (with the Greddy kit) and rest assured that they will not cause foreseeable future Boost related issues/leaks due to hairline cracks initiated as a result of brittle, heat soaked, old stock rubber pipes.

One of the best upgrades you can do. Unless of course, you get New OEM IC pipes.

An SMIC like the PFS completely eliminates the stock intercooler piping elbows anyway! Why waste the money?

Why spend/waste the money on a PFS SMIC???. Simple solution and cure for his problem(s) and concerns deal specifically to the replacement of IC Pipes/Couplings,....not his IC.

Although I do agree that upgrading to a PFS SMIC would be a good improvement! ....Just not needed to fix his current problem.

If you want to carry the argument that far, he could buy a used piece of stock piping to replace his damaged hose for a couple of dollars off the forum.

If he is having blow-off issues, then either his piping is damaged, his couplers suck, or he doesn't know how to properly tighten couplers. I suggested ABOVE to just replace the couplers rather than spending $200+ on piping he doesn't need.

My point was, that he could save his money to actually buy something useful for the car rather than pointless bling. If he wants pointless bling, then he should go for it.

Who's arguing?? I'm not arguing! Are you arguing?? Let's not argue!. I hate to argue!!

I agree. Pointless Bling is,..well,...pointless bling.

In this case though, Greddy Pipes (kit) are both practical and functional and IS an upgrade (and solution) to the old stock IC pipes he's having issues with.

I state this not to be argumentative. I state it an effort to assist the Member in resolving his stock IC pipe related Boost issues.
