intercooler endtanks

im going to embark on build an smic setup using a 18x12x3 in^3 core. my question is about the endtanks. what is a good material to construct them out of? ive read some different information on the internet saying that 14 gauge aluminum is good to use which is like .060 in thick. is that metal okay to use or should i go with something thicker? and about the design of the tanks, the shape of them depends on the flow of the core correct? meaning if side to side or up down. and the inlets/outlets are positioned to get the most air flowing through the whole core?

oh and does anyone know if asp sells their large ducts seperate?

i actually had this bookmarked and forgot about it. thanks for the link

does anyone know the endtank thickness of the common fd intercoolers?

seems that 3-4mm or .118-.157in is the general consensus im getting from the reading. and that sharp angles are bad as the air doesnt flow well
