Intake manifold gasket

I took off my lower intake manifold and the gasket was busted. Do I need to get a new gasket or can I use ultra black gaset maker. I need to put the intake manifold back on today. Let me know if this will work. Thanks for the help.

You need to get a proper gasket. The original gaskets were paper, the updated ones are metal and last pretty much forever.

Get the right gasket, do the job RIGHT and do it ONCE. Black RTV is not the way to do it.

I like your style.

You can also find those polymer based gasket sets on ebay, not too sure how well they seal compared to stock though.

Not all FDs came with a stock paper gasket. I believe it was mostly 93s.

Haha, uhhhh yes there is supposed to be a gasket in between two ridgid metal flanges where they are trying to contain pressurized air.

Can you say boost/vacuum leak?

Dave

My 1994 came with a paper gasket between the Lower Intake Manifold and the engine. It came apart upon removal and I replaced it with the updated metal gasket which looks like a better part.

I'd have to double-check but I think the gasket between the LIM and the UIM was metal.
