Each one has its pros and cons. However, they are all trivial. Pick the one you like the most and use it.

I always use K&N, I don't like the foam filters at all. Just my opinion based on what I've seen over the years from the foam ones degrading prematurely, I've also heard stories (but never seen firsthand) of old foam filters coming apart and getting sucked through the turbo.

Once again, you'll hear good and bad things about all intakes. Simple truth, all the intakes provide similar performance. Bad maintenance on any of them will lead to bad things in general.

Maintain (i.e. clean)? No. Replace? Yes.

Intake piping size for aftermarket

What should the diameter be for my aftermarket intake piping?

For stock twin turbo set up.

What is the majority running for their twin turbo set ups.

Which brand and size filters/piping?

When they list sizes of filters for example

77mm
118mm
is this the width of the actual intake or the inlet ?

The Weapon R one looks like it belongs on a civic, ebay junk.

Are you looking for an intake setup for a stock twin turbo setup? I'd recommend the Fighter's Garage intake or the Apex'i intake. For a single setup, an appropriately sized K&N filter.

I feel the K&N or similar style filters work best. The metal mesh filters allow too many small particles past and foam is known to degrade and get ingested by the motor. We still have a polished hard pipe kit and some K&N filters if you are interested. The only thing is it does not have provisions for all the stock emissions hook ups. If you are keeping the stock intake box, a drop in K&N filter works well. You could also purchase one of the "Cheap Bastard" intakes sold by one of the vendors on here. They work decent if you are on a budget. The best intake with the stock turbo setup however, is the M2 or similar style box. It uses K&N filters and sucks in cool air from under the car.

I would personally choose foam intakes over metal. At least the foam is oiled to capture small particles (that is, if you install them properly). However, K&N's are widely available. If you are building an intake, it just makes sense to get K&N.

No, the paper/cardboard filters flow like crap. Go with a K&N or similar cotton/gauze style filter. The stainless steel intakes do a rather poor job filtering.

Length should be at least 6" on your typical cone filter with a 3" diameter and a 2.5" inlet diameter.

If you go stubby, you should consider going with larger diameter to maintain a similar overall surface area and flow.

K&N has some content on their web site for estimating appropriate air filter size. I think I once found a similar formula in the Single Turbo section when I was researching this some time ago.

Are you reading what we're posting?

Edit: I also just merged all three of your current intake/filter threads into one.
