Yep, that type seems to be the norm over in Japan in all the magazines, as far as single turbo go (wire mesh over the inlet of the turbo). Not to mention you can actually make it look good, but sticking a dyer sheet on there, no matter what you do, look goofy, but it might make the engine smell spring-time fresh.

How about sandwiching dryer lint between to jspec chicken wire filters? That's tough. You could change the color of it by alternating your color loads. Maybe you could even do som test to see if a terry cloth base works better than say denim, though I bet vellux would win.

How sure are you that it needs a rebuild? Actual compression test done with the Mazda tester? Just curious since alot get misdiagnosed by the dealers. The hose going to the map sensor pops off, dealer says its the engine, hook the line back up, secure it with a zip tie, and you good to go. With the line off the map sensor, it does run like a blown engine, rocky idle, motor rocking back and forth, etc, sounds like it exhaust wise. Just making sure you need it before you plunk that kind of money down.

Ya, map sensor has flew uff, but i clamped it on. ITs not blown yet....But, i think that my coolant seals are gone, csaue my car is just being a bitch when it coms to coolant. It tends to drop the cooant alot. and plus, it already has 88,000 miles on it, and i want to get it street ported, so i fire go ahead and get it rebuilt while i am at it.

I can see it now:
"so what you got under the hood?"
-"just a few goodies"
"lets see"
-"alright" *pop, lifts hood
*sniff sniff* "whats that smell"
-"thats my intake, smells like a forest after a spring rain don't it?"
