Installing M2 intake....

Know how the intakes pipes mount but am concerned about mounting the box to the body...or do you?

Also, would you recommend polished metal pipes if so, what brand. RP, rx7fashion or M2?

thanks

which pipes? they are not coming off during hard accell?

any fitment problems?

my box did not come with screws to mount...dont want the carbon fiber to get damage so thinking about using rubber grommets or mounting strip.

I bought the M2 Aluminum Intake pipes at the same time I did my M2 Intake system. They aren't bad to put on but it takes some work to muscle the couplers over the pipe to fit snug. I have never had them come loose and they look really nice. They fit well and I have never had them rub on anything.

Ya but with a koyo you need to modify the box a bit to make it fit. I jsut learned this!! You have to build a little spacers to make it fit and not hit the hood. The hard pipes are a bitch to get on and thebottom one is even more fun to put on. SO thats about all i know. Good luck. n

I have done a Koyo radiator on two cars with an M2 intake (CF and aluminum). I did not have to modify the box for either install.

I am having trouble with the bottom polished pipe from the box to the primary.

It seems too meet the lower box hole about 1.25" above. What kind of cutting did you have to do?

I am about to cut the straight on the pipe to the trubos about 1" to mate to the lower hole on the intake.

any feedback on this?

Garfinkle had to cut his front M2 pipe to fit . He bolted the air box to the frame on the bottom and he drilled a hole in the side of the box and used the 10 mm bolt on the side that goes to the headlight retractor. This moved the box closer to the side by the thickness of the bolt head which was needed in his car.

Thank you all for the feedback...here is the final disposition on the install:

I clearcoated the box to improve the appearance and the cleanability.

First premount the box and make sure the bolt holes line up to the threaded holes on the frame. My box the rear hole lined up but the front hole by the lights did not so I removed the box and dremeled to fit.

If you get the polished pipes you will have to cut at least 1" from the end of the short pipe. The pipe that goes to the primary turbo and attaches to the bottom orifice of the m2 box. The cut must be made from the end that connects to the primary turbo elbow and must me cut parallel to that end at least 1" but not more that 1.25". After the cut the pipe mated perfectly on both ends.

After the cut install the silicone tubes/clamps then the small pipe to the box then as box is falling into position insert the other end to the primary turbo inlet elbow that has it's silicone tube/clamps installed.

Insert the box into position and remove the top lid of box to get to the mounting holes.

The bolt hole closest to the firewall I covered with some tape so it would stick to the socket (10mm). You will have to have a large extension to reach down. The front bolt you can put in with your hands then tighten with the ratchet.

Once the box is installed you can manipulate the short pipe for the best fit then tighten the clamps.

Hope this helps. Mine fit great with PWR radiator.
