Picked up and installed and set of Mark's Engineering pillowball bushings. Fit and finish was top notch. The bushings use the best of the best Aurora bearing and are anodized for corrosion resistance. Install was fairly simple if you have a press handy. Here are a few pictures. Overall, I'd recommend them if you're looking for replacements.
They look slick, but I'm curious about how they'd stack up to J-Auto's offerings (which I have, and have yet to install). That website has some nice stuff, too. I'd be curious if they would ever offer some front LCAs for our cars. I have yet to see anyone actually make their own. Please keep us posted when your car hits the ground.
Oh, same price as J-Auto's, I wonder if they are the same or different.
I'm not sure of the exact differences but Mark's are anodized and use USA made Aurora bearings. If you're unfamiliar with Aurora bearings here's some info:
The sixteen series of Aurora spherical bearings all incorporate the single-piece race type construction, providing excellent ball-to-race conformity and structural integrity, along with the advantages of metal-to-metal contact between bearing components. Standard race materials are low carbon, heat treated steel. ***** are precision ground steel.
It looks like the Mark's Engineering are Aluminum while the J-Auto are Steel.
Are OEM steel as wel?, I wonder if the material qualities of aluminum versus steel make a difference here?
What are the going price of Mazda oem ones from malloy?
Nice! I haven't heard of these. Good alternative to OEM.
They are lighter than OEM. The website says they are 125 grams each, and I weighed an old stock pillowball as 184 grams. With 6 pillowballs that is ALMOST one pound total difference in unsprung weight. Not much but if you're watching ounces and grams it isn't bad.

Thanks for the info Dale. Reducing unsprung weight is always a plus
