Don't plug it (unless your airpump is removed). It relieves the excess air from the airpump. Add a hose onto it with some restriction at the end of it to help muffle the sound.

You can leave it vented. It's annoying as hell so I would recommend connecting a hose and routing it down towards the ground inside the engine bay to help reduce/remove the low rpms hissing.

When I removed my airpump I had the same 'dying cow' noise. Plugged up the hoses and it all went away.

As Mahjik said, don't plug them unless your airpump is disabled/removed.

if you put the stock bov on backwards I still don't think it will allow air to pass through but I don't have one here to check.

I thought that for air to pass through it on either end it had to have vacuum applied to the small nipple.

You could also go buy one of those tiny air filters and try that out instead of rigging it

Yeah.. it won't allow air to pass if you put in on backwards. But then you are essentially running without a blow off valve.. which is very bad. It's there for a reason remember?

That's debatable. Many people choose not to run a BOV, without any ill effects. It also helps responce after shifting since you won't "bleed" off all the built up pressure (boost). However, i'm not sure how the factory twins would hold up to this.

or you can jack the air relief valve "muffler" from an fc. i'm sure you can find someone who will just give you one.

Ok.. well I don't think that the prespool relief valve can be removed and still have a functioning sequential system. At least my car ran like crap when mine blew off. (No boost in first and second gear.. but third was ok? idk.. strange things happened).

Back in the day, when I was still running an airpump, I used a lawnmower muffler to quiet the MOOOO sound. Worked quite well. It was also a really good conversation starter (why the hell do you have lawnmower parts in your engine bay??).
