Question inspecting turbos

Well I have my turbos out right now, I was wandering if there was anyway to tell if my shaft is bent. I have had someone tell me it was but he was not sure. The turbo spins great and has good play so I think its fine. Thanks

I think if the shaft was bent the compressor wheel would wobble. If they have just a little bit of play and they weren't leaking they should be in good shape.

^ I think he summed it up well. Mine had just a little bit of play and did not leak at all. Furthermore, I know that they are in great working condition so....

Who should I take my car to, to have the turbo checked? Cause my primary isn't spooling up, I think it's because my precontrol, turbo control actuator and wastegate control need to all be checked, adjusted, and replaced if needed. At least that's what I think needs to be done, what do you guys suggest? My secondary kicks in fine right when it's supposed to, but in lower RPM range I have NO POWER what so ever between 0 and 3,000 RPM's and sometimes up to 4,500 RPM's which is normal since that's when the secondary comes on. But what do you guys think is wrong with my primary?

O and I don't have a boost gauge, so please don't ask for my boost reading, cause I have no idea right now. I am going to get a boost gauge and once that's in then I can tell you how much boost is going through my secondary and if any is going through my primary.

Most places will disassemble them and find out what the problem is, then you have to pay them to put them back together or you get them back as a pile of pieces.

Try to find a local rx7 shop. DO NOT TAKE IT TO A MAZDA DEALERSHIP! They don't know crap 1/2 the time so find a good shop and let them inspect everything that they can without taking the turbos apart. Furthermore, it would really help to have some boost readings because it might just be that a hose has cracked or something.
Good luck!

Check for a loose or split boost hose. Look at the y-pipe coupler specifically. You'll have to take it off to inspect it, hard to see flaws/problems with everything attached.

It is easier for both turbos to overcome a boost leak, that could be a reason why you see some more power above 4500rpm.

no, and YES I know. I am going to get a boost gauge. I don't hear any wooshing, but of course I haven't tried listening for it or paid any attention. I also don't have the car right now, it's still at the shop getting some work done to it so it can be smogged.
