Question Inner tie-rod (searched)

GRRRRR....
I'm trying to find a replacement driver's side inner tie rod end for my 93 touring. Got one from Advance for ~$30, but it didn't fit! Its made by TRW, who I believe is the OEM; however, the ends were coarse-threaded and should be fine-threaded (per the alignment shop). The box the part came in was pretty beaten up, so it looks like I wasn't the first person to try using this part. I thought they may have just ordered the wrong part, but the part number (trw es3428) is the same on every website I searched. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Am I insane?

My car is at the alignment shop waiting on the part. Should I try to order another and hope that its right? I definitely DON'T have time to dick around getting this fixed.

Malloy Mazda has it for ~$65, but they would have to order it and then ship it to me. If its a TRW part, will I have the same problem? Damnit! is anything simple with these cars?!?!? Sorry for the long post...needed to vent.

TIA,
Stew

Thanks, Fritz. I sent you a PM.
Any chance of you having a boost controller or some SMIC hard pipes, efini y-pipe, etc in your vast catalog-o-parts?

Thanks,
Stew

Back from the dead! :-o

So, I ordered some Spicer inner tie rods (PN: 4051102) and ran into the same issue. The stock Mazda one has a much finer pitch thread on it than the replacement part. Needless to say, you can't screw the new one into the rack.

Anyone else find a part that will fit? Any other Mazda cars cross-reference correctly for this part?

I just responded to a guy about Napa tie rods (269-5520). I have the inners still in box, they have about 9 threads in 15mm on the end that ties into the rack assembly. Is that going to work?

BTW: just removed my donor 1993 inner tie-rod and measured the following:

rod to rack: M16 x 1.0 (fine thread)
tie-rod end: M12 x 1.25

My understanding is that the 94+ has a different rod to rack thread-pitch: M16 x 1.5

Yeah, got stuck in this situation in which my oem tie rod are fine thread and got stuck with coarse thread. I found a company online that actually sells aftermarket fine thread inner tie rod with washer as well

I bought aftermarket Moog inner tie rods from Rockauto.com and I ended up receiving factory Mazda inner tie rods for like 25-30 bucks each one? It's worth a shot, someone else on the forums said they ordered moog inner tie rods and got mazda as well.
