Inlet manifold oil leak.

Hello,

Just looking for a degree of confirmation before removing turbo's. I have oil leaking between the engine and the lower rear side of the inlet manifold. Have checked the inlet tract for oil, most of it seems fairly clean although there did appear to be some build up on the gasket between the upper and lower inlet manifolds (where the gasket over hangs into the inlet path slightly). Im assuming I have a turbo oil seal on the way out and oil is collecting at the bottom of the inlet manifold and then seeping out between the gasket.

Does this sound feesable?

Cheers
Tim.

No enough information.

The FD3S has a crankcase vent which goes back into the intake track. With hard driving (like on a road course), it's not uncommon to have oil go into the intake track and also out of the BOV. What you are experiencing could be completely normal, or it could be a problem... It depends on what your car is used for to know for sure...

Have not long finished running engine in after rebuild (1800 miles or so) nothing in the way of hard driving been done recently and this has been a fairly significant amount of oil dripping from the lower side of the inlet ( have not had this in the past even after track use)

I figure turbo's may have been open to wear from being off the car stored in the gargage during engine rebuild work...
