Ignorance is bliss..... it is possible and it is done all the time. Just because YOU can't or don't think it can be done, fortunately doesn't change the reality of tuning in the real world.

I currently have an Fd in the shop that has regular old bosch 1000cc primaries with resistors and I can make the car idle pretty much anywhere I want it to.

Just remember to think outside the box sometime

Ok, so if there is a special way to do it, then why don't you share with the rest of the world as its a big problem for everyone else outside of the "real world". This would avoid the countless threads on the problem. Resistors (aka the wrong way to run lowimp. injectors) + negative lag helps lean it out but at the same time, your cutting down the fuel delivery since it affects the injector all the time so why bother using a bigger injector to begin with if your just making it act like a smaller one?

There is no magic in tuning, if there is some other way to do it, then why don't you share with people inside the box.

I have been meaning to try "Inj Adjust" which is a correction table based on RPM and "INJ vs TPS" which is correction table based on throttle position as these would be the only settings that I can see that wouldn't limit the capacity of the injector but haven't had big primaries to test in a while. However, I have a feeling I already tested these when I had Bosch 850cc low impedance primaries with the FJO injector driver and the best I could do (with negative lag) was very low 12's. This was on a street ported motor running 1,000-1,100 RPM idle and fuel pressure set to 38 PSi.

Anyway, will post my results with the ID1000cc's and ID 725cc's when I get them. If I can get the ID1000cc's to idle mid 12's without negative lag (using the ID injector dead time chart values), I won't bother with the 725cc's.

there's a way to do it with the pfc. The problem is in the tps voltage. I don't want to get into details on it but once you get the proper voltage it needs, you can adjust idle a/f just like any other ecu.

Not sure why you wouldn't go to details but thanks for sharing that information anyway. Guess I'll have more things to play with when I get the new injectors. I can only assume its something you have to adjust out of norm then as I have always had my TPS within Mazda spec. Maybe the lower end of Mazda spec?

Who was the tuner? You can PM if you like.

Thinking of also getting the 4 x 725 cc ID injectors ... can i also get a free set to test out

My reason for try to upgrade is that with my siemens injectors that I have on there right now, if I move one point from the top end I seem to change from 12.5 AFR to 14 AFR for some stupid reason. Hoping this might make it better. Idle is pretty decent right now, but I bet will be a tad bit better than the others.

Out of curiosity, is there any videos of how the spray pattern is on those injectors?
