Question Info request: MazdaSpeed FD BBK

I'm hoping there is someone out there that has some information (technical data) on the blue mazdaspeed brake kit. I'd like to know:
A) What rotor it uses
B) Piston size

I know there are other BBK's out there... but for the purposes of this thread I'd just like info on the mazdaspeed kit. Hopefully there is someone out there with a MazdaSpeed catalogue. I think they offered this in 00 or 01?? I believe it was released along with the R-Spec... but don't quote me on that.

Thanks, Heath

I cant help on specs but I remember there was someone at Deals Gap last year (2010) with what looked like a mazdaspeed BBK. IIRC it said "Mazdaspeed" on the side of the caliper, they wern't blue though. They also had a mazdaspeed SMIC. Hope this helps.

My buddy who works for Endless USA says unequivocally no (on the calipers at least).

What I'd really be interested in is a copy/scan/pdf of that manual

Me too, but what would happen when the calipers need servicing? If we could confirm that they are just a re-badged endless kit then the rebuild parts can be ordered from there.

Ceylon, I took the time to download that MONSTER picture, resize it, and go in and attach it to your post. In the future please avoid posting pics that are sized 4000x3000

That doesn't look particularly big. In fact, it looks like the smaller regular brakes. Look at the size of the rotor compared to the dust shields.

The first looks like a caliper-only upgrade, that would seem to be a big waste of time unless it's meant to fit the 99/RZ-sized rotors, which you could purchase separately. The second looks like a custom job that painted the stock calipers and screened a logo on somehow—may even be a sticker.

Both sound like a a lot of hassle when there are plenty of good kits out there.

Memory might be failing, for the monobloc ones, think the rotor was 320 or 330 x 28, when Mazda listed them.

That would be odd, considering the 99 spec is 32mm thick. Was it a one or two piece rotor do you remember?

If anyone has a mazdaspeed catalog they would be willing to quote or better yet scan, please step forward

I think I saved this from a yahoo auction, whether discs are genuine might be questionable - and the rear pads in shot are confusing.

Almost certain, because it surprised me at the time, there was less meat in the rotor......caliper is nicer though. Would have thought Fdnewbie might have info, if he's around.

Nothing more on that drive. Judging by some other yahoo stuff I've saved and the number sequence on the pic it's 2008.....asking a bit too much for my cranial capacity on that particular auction, even if there was pertinent info.

If you notice the pad clip, it's a dead ringer for the road Brembo ones, the unusual pad shape in one of your pics might define the caliper if you wanted to go through a catalogue??

nope, i saw that auction and translated it. what I'd really like is a spec sheet, a copy of the manual that came with the brakes, or even like a scan of the mazdaspeed catalog describing the parts
