Ran it thru a translator, it mentions something about that kit or the calipers being related to a toyota of some sort. Not sure if it is an authentic mazdaspeed kit, or the same calipers yanked off another car that came with the same caliper and then painted to look like the mazdaspeed. I've asked my friend who is a japanese native and english teacher to translate for me and will post what he says if it's relevant.
Found this in Yahoo Japan Auction, not sure if this is the authentic Mazdaspeed bbk..... since the calipers looks different from the original Mazdaspeed bbk calipers. Still for sale, 5 days left until auction ends......
Chris, to my knowledge the MS BBK only came in a 4 pot version, I think those are just rebadged calipers? You have to be careful with YJ, lots of counterfeit parts. Pictured below is an authentic kit. This kit was $4000+ new.
pic take from MS catalog where you can see they are clearly a 4 pot.
What I'd really be interested in is a copy/scan/pdf of that manual
Just received my -99 FD Type RS and it came with this exact set installed, havent had time to pull these apart yet, but now trying to find the original manufacturer too, because I'm in dire need of some pads soon and would love to use these 4 pots.
Of course, in emergency, I can just grind any pads to conform the calibers but it's a PITA to do and dust is everywhere after that.
EDIT: Dug a bit into this and these are from 2000 Mazdaspeed R-Spec Product line breaks which was offered almost same time as Sprit Rs
The calipers are made by Sumitomo and are effectively the same aluminum monoblock calipers that came on a Toyota Celsior. These calipers were also used on the aftermarket TRD big brake kits during the early 2000s. OEM Toyota Celsior pads and hardware will work, as will any aftermarket pad (like TRD or endless) made for that model.

You are correct! Pad seems to be UCF20 Lexus LS430 / Celsior pad.
Were these made for stock rotors or did they use Celsior rotor too? I have some red tinge ProjectMu/Autoexe two piece rotors and the bolts rotate scary close to the calibers...
Hi all I have the chance to buy a set of these as pictured but I'm not sure if they are real or not. Here are the pics of the ones I'm trying to buy. The big difference I noticed is the top of the caliper above the Mazdaspeed word the shape is different from the ones I compared in this thread. If anyone can comment on what they think as soon as possible that would be great. Been searching for a while so don't want these to get away if they are the real deal. Seller claims they use Celsior pads which seem to give them some authenticity credit. However the shape really throws me. Thanks for any help!
edit: also it was stated that they are replacement rotors and pads so please don't make decision based on that
The short answer to your question RYN_RX-7 is "no" they are not authentic MAZDASPEED. The long answer is that they are the exact same Sumitomo caliper, pistions, seals, pads, and pins. The difference is in how the Toyota caliper face is shaved, maybe cosmetic, maybe weight reduction, and the mount brackets are custom.
The info above is correct about the caliper being TRD options for Toyota Aristo, Soarer, Chaser and Supra, but the OEM Celsior caliper type is UCF30 and UCF31 not UCF20.
The MAZDASPEED kit is meant to fit on FD3S larger OEM 17" rotors, along with every copy I have seen.
Have a replica kit on my car now here is a link to the build thread. Have owned an authentic kit in the past and overhauled it with the Toyota Celsior pins, seals, and clips, pads were SEI just like the TRD Supras. It is very fortunate that it is the same because MAZDA told me to go **** up a rope when I went in looking for these parts several years ago. Would have been a very expensive set of paperweights otherwise, just like the unsupported MAZDASPEED suspensions, diffs, and clutches.
The attached pic is from my 2002 MAZDASPEED Calogue.

They were likely not knock offs, but the real MAZDASPEED deal, I sold a set to a forum member that frequents Deals Gap. They were not blue because they were blasted in prep for powder coat.

Laujesse thanks for the info really helps to know. So from what I understand they are exactly the same just not made by Mazdaspeed themselves. Do you know who made them? Still want to find an original Mazdaspeed set but these ones look really good on your car! I wouldn't have known until now.
