IM out of ideas!!

It all began on saturday when i was doing some highway pulls with my freind. I was boosting about 15 psi with a t78 haltech and just about everything to go with it. It started to not pull as hard as i made about 5 highway pulls. Than as we were turinng around the car was having trouble pulling vacuum and running smooth, so i pulled over and i had a timing light in the back of my car, and we found out the leading coils were fried. So i had a spare down the street at another freinds house, we replaced them in te street and it still ran like **** so i towed it home. I bought new spark plug and wires. I check that i have spark on both leading and trailing coils, but the car is still acting up. The problem is that it isnt pulling vacuum at idle. It wants to be right about 3~ or so. If you try to give it some gas it just sounds good awful, studers and spuders, i also have a FPR gauge and it shows a strong Rising rate psi of 48 psi. So i have spark and fuel but yet to tell on compression. The problem being that the motor will start right up, so im leaning away frmo the blown motor idea, cause its usually a struggle to get it started when you blow anything on a rotary. I was messing with zeroing the timingon the haltech before that night but it was running fine up until it flat died. So i went back to the original map and its still has the same problem. Im just going to compression test the motor for ***** and giggles, but dose anyone have any idea, im starting to get fustrated! THanks
Marc

I would check the 3 wire harness that goes to the 3 ignition coils. My car was down for 10 months while me and my father in law tried to narrow down the problem. We checked for spark the first time and we got it.Then we checked again and we discovered that we were getting intermittent spark. This is of course after we replaced an assload of parts. We changed out the plugs, spark wires, the ignition coils, the fuel injectors, the pressure regulator, the fuel injectors, the fuel filter.Still no dice.I would check the wire since its so easy to do.Also check for spar more than once to make sure yo arent getting the same problem I was having.Good luck.

One time when i cracked one apex seal and 2 corner seals, it would start up and kinda sound like a harley. I would guess something same happened if you have already checked your map, tps, ect sensors.

Like stated above check the MAP sensor hose and then the wire loom for the coils. But I would start at getting a compression test. Then if that checks out OK start looking for big vaccum leaks. LIM gasket UIM gasket vaccum hoses etc.. use some starting fluid or brake cleaner spray to try to locate a bad gasket. ( Idle will either go up with the starter fluid or down with the brake cleaner.)

As i understand it if i had a big vacuum leak it would just idle really high with almost not ill effects ont he rest of the car. My car does soundn like a harley, im starting to get scard, well im going to compression test it and see what happend. Would the car act like this if the CAS sensor went bad? Thanks for the replys.

Tons of fuel ,the CAS got grounded by a wire that was left over frmo the MSD install and it didnt know where it was so it just kept firing. Im not to sad cause its a BP motor with 3mm seal and all that crap with a nasty custom single turbo!!

so this sounds extremely like the problem I was having and Gotham diagnosed it...Replaced the plugs, coils, wires, and then it came down the CAS...we replaced those too and had a completely new wire run from the CAS to the ECU...the problem can be with the sensors and/or in the wire...

Anyway, we rapaced the CAS...and get this..Still no good...What happened is that they had to move the CAS closer to that little metal ring thingy and then problem solved...I don't remember what the tolerance is but it's something small like 5mm...It was in tolerance but was a little on the far side...basically they just put 2 extremely thin washers on the CAS to bring them closer...Now pulling like a son of a bitch. Also, for tuning they recommended i run race plugs in the leading...Still running them....All is good. But we also had that same issue where my car sounded like ****...**** = Harley.

EDIT: Well, looks like ya figured it out already but I am going to leave this here since someone may need it.
