Unhappy im new, help me ~~~~~~~~~~~

hi everyone in this forum, im sorry that i dont speak english that well, but i will try my best to explain what my questions are, hope u guys can help me out here.
i just bought a 93 rx7 FD with about 87000m on the engine, and now my secondary turbo is gone, because my psi only go up to 5, so i want to replace it with a HKS T04R turbo kit, it comes with the turbo, maniford, and intake, after the installation it should be around 450hp, my friends told me that my engine cant afford that much of power, it will blow. im kinda scared, but i really want the T04R, because with the 5psi turbo i have now, a 90 eclips with a stock turbo smoked me 3days ago on my birthday night!!!! i almost cried..so what should i do?? anything i can add to my engine so it can take the new turbo?? and tell me some tips on how to drive fast from lights to lights races, i know im really stupid, but im a fast learner~~~~so please reply guys!!!thanx!!!

Your friends are gonna be right in a little while. With that high mileage putting a bigger turbo is gonna kill your engine. For the rest of your questions please use the search button it will give you all the answers you need.

Well, congrats on purchasing the FD.

First off, just because you aren't getting full boost doesn't necessarily mean the turbos are bad. There are MANY other reasons that can cause low boost.

I would recommend that first you find out if the turbos are really bad or not. Here is a site for troubleshooting turbo problems:

http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm

If you don't have the tools to do the work yourself, find a mechanic that has worked on FD's in the past and has a good reputation.

If indeed the turbos need to be replaced, it's not as simple as just purchasing a Single Turbo kit and slapping it in. You also have to address the fuel system and ECU (and then tuning of the ECU) which can all get quite expensive when it's all said and done.

There are many other ways to enchance your car without going to a single turbo (as well as having the stock turbos rebuilt and enhanced). Check this site about basic mods for the FD:

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/stages.html

The first things you should take care of when just taking ownership of an FD are:

1. Change the oil and oil filter
2. Change the fuel filter
3. Change the spark plugs (and wires if needed)
4. Change the O2 sensor
5. Flush the cooling system

Those few things will give you a good basis when starting off with the car.

Good luck!

Unfourtunatly, you'll probably need to be doing ALOT of reading in english.

If you're looking for any more than, say, 300hp, and even with that -at those miles if it's the original motor it probably should be rebuilt.

If you can read english well, buy the shop manual! It will help you trouble shoot your problem. It's more than likely that there is nothing wrong with your turbos. If you can start checking problem areas highlighted in the manual we can help you find your problem sooner.

P.S. remember no job is ever done right when it is rushed. Do some more research on putting larger higher boost turbos because there are many more steps you have to take to aquire that power leverl other than news turbos.

Congrats on the new car! Got any pics? Oh yeah, when your ready to upgrade for more power, don't forget to check out the parts section:

most of the info and more on those sites is hidden in old threads around here too, but this forum can be a little unstable. read the archives forum at the top of this one too.

Just a few days ago I was only getting 5psi as well. I was ready to do the vacuum line job but found out that wasnt the problem.

Check the stock intercooler pipeing. One of the clamps came loose and I was getting a 5(first turbo) 4(transition) 5(2nd turbo) boost pattern. Might want to check that.

Hopefully that was an easyfix like mine.

Good Luck
