I'm going to shoot myself getting my dash out....

Are the dashes for the 1993 different from the 1994?

I'm looking at the manual in PDF in the second sticky and its still just not coming out. Is the bar that runs the width of the dash behind it supposed to come out with the dash?

I have the 4 bolts out (2 on either side of the dash, every interior piece is out except for the a pillar plastics and the large dash piece. The stereo and little cubby spot under it are still there too. I dropped the streering column.

I have taken some of the screws out that attach the dash to the bar, however, the others appear way too impossible to get out. Arg.

Hmmm, no it isn't:
hought id provide locations where the dash is tied down..
post removal of the instrument cluster.. center console.. glove compartment...

1 the dash cover pops out to access bolt
2 and 3 two bolts on each side
4 and 5 two bolts on each side.. youll need to remove side panels.. held via pushpins
6 two bolts holdin the steering column
7 unclip connectors from the bracket holder.. this requires patience

requires 10 and 12mm sockets and extension..

I just removed and reinstalled mine. It takes some side to side movement to get it loose. I also found that removing the shifter end e brake makes it much easier to move around and get out of the car. Did you remove the bolt under the cover between the defroster grills?

Well I guess what I'm curious about is if that bar that the steering column come out with the dash?

Because my dash is attached to that via screws to thinner arms that come off of that bar. There are a couple spots where I can't get a socket in there to get those screws off.

I have the center bolt off near the windshield. I have the 2 bolts off on either side where the bar attaches to the chassis. I can't see any more bolts on the center console that need to be removed. (I must have just done it when I was removing other pieces.
Would be nice if there was a picture of the dash with X's on it showing where they are. I'm looking at page 1026 of the manual.

You dont remove the dash from the metal tube that runs thru it. There are also two bolts on each side of the dash down on the trans tunnel. On the drivers side they are behind a removable cover and may have a flap of carpet over them. There will be two more in the same location on the pass. side.

K, looked at your picture. I'm going to go back out and hope I don't take a baseball bat to the 7.

Wahahah. I was making it too hard as usual.

I was like, "These guys are morons. They are called screws, not bolts." I was trying to unscrew every spot where the dash attaches to that tube.

I sat there for like 10 minutes look at one that was 1/2 inbetween the exterior dash and the firewall, saying to myself.... "there is no f'n way."

Well now it is loose and came forward about 5 inches, but feels like it is maybe catching on a part of the harness or something.

You do know that you have to disconnect four or five connectors behind the instrument panel, right?
