Ignition Harness Question for You experts

Guys I am still fighting breakup with My car as I have done for the last 2 years. I have a question about the ground from a 93 ignition harness. I know that the 94 and newer harnesses did not have the ground. When I hooked up the MSD amps (6a leading and DIS 2 Traling) I spliced into the factory harness but removed the ground because I thought it was not needed. Could this be a problem? This seems like a stupid ? but I am running out of ideas.

My main harness was changed out last Winter and all sensors but I still have some sort of electrical Gremlin as the fans always run( I have checked and replaced all sensors and checked the relays) My car is running fairly rich on the wide band but it should not be as bad as it is. As soon as I hit any boost at all She sputters and pops.

I have changed the plugs several times and they have been good and I have lots of spark from checking each coil and plug. I have also added many ground straps.

Thanks Steve

how do you know that 94 and up don't have a ground on the ignition harness? i just changed the engine on a 93 and a 94 and they both had two grounds from the ignition harness. one to the ignition coils and one on the block near the spark plugs. however, the one on the 94 was slightly smaller held on by a 10mm bolt while the 93 had a 12mm bolt and a bigger connector and a more robust wire.

i would hook up the GND and see if that helps. then disconnet the MSD if you are still having problems to help troubleshoot.

also, this may sound crazy, but a few years ago i had the same problem when car got warmed up, it would sputter... if you woke up in the mornign, started it, and blasted down the street... nothing, it ran great, but then next run would do the sputtering again.... this was all after a rebuild. found the problem was not the actual coolant sensor, but somewhere along the line from the sensor to the ecu it was screwing with the signal. an adjustable POT was put inline to trick the ecu to get a good signal.
do you know how long that took to figure out?! i think i replaced 60% of the car at taht point.
