which ignition?

OK, BNR St. 2 twins, streetport, intake, full exhaust, non-seq, greddy fmic, koyo, PFS PMS.

Thats the mod list, my question to you is, if you had 600 bucks, what would you do with it. I have been through the reliability mod list, all of that is done. Car has new suspension, so no need for that.

My brother is about to put a Jacobs ignition in his 2nd gen, and (he being the one who owes me $600) said he would buy me one as well. I already have the XS power pack, just not installed. I'm running up to 15 psi, just have no idea what to do. Any ideas? Anywhere I could better use the money? Appreciate the help guys, and gals, stuck in a bit of a rut here.

Pay much less and get the HKS Twinpower. MUCH better unit, it's rotary specific, and plugs right in. The RX-7 store has a good price on it.

IMHO the Jacob's boxes are WAY overpriced - I've never been pleased with any of Jacob's products.

hmmm

Isn't the box for use The Jacobs FC1000? If so I can get them for around $140. Is this the wrong ignition? When I talked to Ari, at the NDRA races in VA, he said that he loved his Jacobs ignition. LOL, he was going through AEM stuff every run it seemed like.

I'm running two FC1000s with two C4 coils on the lead ignition only. Go with the TwinPower as it is compact and installs easily = no hassles. The FC1000 will burn down whichever stock coil you put it on, L or T, guaranteed.

ign

I have the FC coils, so I wasn't really worried about burning up coils as bad. I kinda wanted to move them out, so I could clean up under the manifold.

Here is a chronology of my experience:
1. Stock: Ignition breakup above 13psi
2. AEM: Solved the breakup problem, but the box failed . . . twice.
3. Crane: Better than stock, but had breakup above 6950 on the dyno at 15psi.
4. Twin Power: 'Feels' better than the Crane at high and low rpm. I am going back to the dyno within a week or two to verify.

CC - the TwinPower is stock coil-friendly all day long, right?
