if it werent bad luck
so i finally got my car running again a few weeks ago and it was great. its never run that well. ive been driving it around to get some milage on it before i was to take it to get tuned (which was going to be tomorrow). i noticed a few days after i had it running and had been driving it that it was giving me trouble cold starting. it sounded like it had really fouled plugs. so i go ahead and cleaned them and it fired right up. a few days later it did it again. this time i just gave her a few light revs and it ran fine. well it has seemed the last few days it had gotten really bad so i went last night (driving my 7 which was running fine while i was cruising around for 4 hours) and bought new plugs to put in today. now keep in mind ive only had issuses when the car was ice cold sitting more than 5hrs or so at a time. i went out this morning to see how it would start...to my suprise (sarcasam) it ran worse. i figued the plugs finally had enough, they'd been cleaned so many times, but it really didnt sound right today. so just out of couriosity will i had the plugs out i had my buddy turn it over while i put my had in front of the plug hole. to my surprise, for real, i have almost nothing on the front rotor. now i have a $4000 paper weight. it ran fine when i shut it down last night. now today nothin. not sure what to do next....we ll have to see.

If your rotor is flooded then you may be making little to no compression. This could also be the cause of your cold start problems. You may have a leaky injector, or something of the like. This could also explain why cleaning your gas soaked plugs seems to help sometimes with startup.

Rossc is right, flooding will give you little or no compression. Check for a leaking injectors and I believe you'll find instructions for unflooding your motor in the sticky section.

well what ever failed took out the rotor and housing and one small nick out of and apex seal. im a little frustrated at the moment. im sure its a no fault thing but damn thats a lot of money to throw away. i wont know how extensive the damage is until i get it to the builder and have it taken apart. it had to detonate some how but i dont see how. i know everyone says that they "babyied it" during break in but i dont run the car hard very often when its together tuned let alone a new frckin motor. i love the rotory but i can see why the ls-x swap is so popular. i have an extra rb25 layin around i may do that if this keeps up....hhhmmm. well hopfully it wont kill me financially. it tapped me out with everything i did over the winter.
