Idles high when cold! HELP!
When my FD is cold, it idles at around 2000prm then slighty goes down to 1500rpm and just goes up and down from 1500rpm - 1700rpm... or close to those figures. This continues until the car is warmed up, then the idle is normal. Does anyone else have this problem? Please help! Thanks in advanced!

I thought so, but I just didn't know it would idle so high... sorry. While i made a post... my FD also blows white smoke when cold... i'm pretty sure this is a coolant leak. How can I fix it? Replace the coolant seal? Big job? Thank you in advanced.

first off i am amusing that the car is going threw the acclerated warm up ****....if your car is manuel put the car in gear and start the car...it should disable the AWS. It did for mine at least. And if your blowing alot of white smoke on start up it could be condensation since the temperature is getting a lil cooler out these days. IF there is ALOT of smoke and the smoke looks very THICK and smells sweet that get ready to fork over a few grand for a quality rebuild .....if the coolant seal is gone or you can always try this but im not sure of the success rate on doing this... http://www.fd3s.net/o-ring_fix.html Have Fun!!

Oh yeah, accelerated warm-up. My car blows out a lot of blue smoke at start up, it's just a lot of oil burning. Sometimes a whitish cloud, which is just condensation. It should go away when warm. If it's constantly burning a white cloud then it is coolant. And it will require a rebuild.
It's something you want to watchout for when buying a used FD.

It used to blow white smoke (or steam) when it was cold, not starting it in gear, but evern since I started it in gear, its all disappeared... does this means its gone? And no need for a rebuild or anything? Thank you.

I don't see what starting it in gear has to do with a blown seal. If the motor is bad it will smoke regardless.
I cut the wires and didn't notice any difference.
