Question Idle Speed Control

I have been trying for weeks trying to get my car started again after doing several upgrades. Now I have several problems I am trying to resolve. The one I want to ask about here is the Idle Speed Control.

When I crank the engine a couple of times, the ISC starts buzzing loudly. Most of the time, it will continue until I kill the power. Other times, it eventually stops. Is it toasted, or is the ECU (Power FC) trying franticly to adjust the idle?

Thanks…

Im not an expert on the rx-7 ecu.... but usually the idle speed controller is open loop... so it has a certain set of parameters that it runs... so I don't believe the controller would be the root cause of your problem... it sounds like a hardware issue(proly unrelated to the mods you did).

I've encountered the buzzing noise from the Idle Speed Control Motor on a few FD's with PowerFC's including mine. ISC failure is not very common and even with Malloy Mazda's discount it is over $400 for a new one.
