An idle jumping fix

Well it might not be the only fix. There's faulty distributors and what not.
Anyhow, I checked my exaust cause I wanted to replace the studs and just prior to that I started getting a jumpy idle. I found one of the nuts had fallen off. Since I didn't know the stud sizes and my 2nd car isn't running I just got new nuts and crush washers for the cat' to exhast connection. My exhaust got quieter and the jumping idle dissapeard.

LOL. You might have a bent push rod! 
On a serious note, if your jumpy idle comes back, you will more than likely need to adjust your throttle position sensor. Do a search.
