idle hunting after removing air pump

is there anything I was supposed to do when i removed the airpump to get the idle back to normal?

There is an electrical connection you have to solder resistor into, to fool the ECU into thinking the pump is still there. Search for air-pump removal, or something similar, and see if you can dig it up.

If not, I'm sure Mahjik will give you a link to a thread that describes it in amazing detail in about 5 minutes.

does anyone know if you should do this with a pettit unlimited ecu also?

I'd suspect you put the resisor in the gray connector that hooked up the the airpump!

You shouldn't need that for the Pettit ECU. However, I think it takes a few drives for the ECU to "learn" the new idle.

As for the resistor, I'm not sure what resistance you need, but you can measure it and just go buy one. If you are on the stock ECU, why are you removing the air pump?

If you have the Pettit, try resetting the ECU, and then driving it for a few days.
