What spark plugs you running? I had the same issue and I put new spark plugs in 9 heat rage all around and now the car idles fine and doesn't sputter or back fires as much as it used to. Also what are you mods?

NGK 9's are what i use all around, it could be a possible plug issue or your car may need the idle adjustment screw played with. also check to see if your wires are in the proper order.

Do a search on Throttle Position Sensor. Make sure those voltages check out as well.

ok tps good spark plugs ngk 9 good turned idle screw 1/4 turn idle went back to normal but i feel like thats cheating and there's one other thing when i took the plugs out of my engine there were leading plugs in trailing holes and vice versa does any one kno y that would be was it just a screw up or do people do that for certain reasons

Well if they are all 9s then it doesn't matter if they are leading or trailing. What do they look like? This is what mine looked like when it was running like crap.

thats what my plugs looked like when i took the old ones out idk about the new ones yet ill have to check and i had oil pressure coolant temp and rpm gauge didn't work and i have to codes one for a knock sensor and another for the aws (accelerated warmup system ) but i've had those codes threw the last 8 months and 1 week ago it just started acting up so i dont think those matter

Did you possibly knock your tps out of spec? I had this exact issue on my fd.

I would..

1) get the car up to operating temperature
2) plug a volt meter into the second from top wire and check the voltages as you move the throttle body.
3) repeat this on the bottom wire.
4) Loosen the screw and adjust if necessary.

This made a world of difference for me with my idle hunt, hanging idle, and crappy idle issues.

I would look into what the correct voltages are.. But generally if its a range of around 1-5v on both I find it works fine.
