Sell friends.
Save money for rebuild.

And honestly, don't start modding your car until you actually know what you are doing. It is obvious that you don't. Don't even try justifying it. Read the FAQs, then research some more. And then read some more. After that.... Read it all again.

Your 'boys'? Children? Or an oh-so-cool reference to your friends? If so, may as well have just said, "my homies". You got a 'posse'?

Okay, sorry man...just bustin' your ***** a little.

You have definitely come to the right place for questions like this. LOTS of good info here, information that often salvages a new owner from insanity, heartbreak, and bankruptcy.
You'll....learn....there is bad/good/best ways to post questions to avoid flaming.
Don't be put off by criticism, just learn from it.

if people perceive that you haven't done your homework on the car (searched forums and read FAQ and archive) they feel that you haven't 'put your time in.' it's nothing personal, it's just an internet forum

short answer, no

eventually, yes you will, or if you start pulling stuff off, they're metal gaskets so you should replace them every time you remove what ever they're sealing.

I think you need to learn about the difference between gaskets and internal engine seals. Gaskets go between mating surfaces, like where an intake manifold connects to the engine or a water pump housing connects to an engine. You probably knew that. Those can fail on Rx-7's just like on any other car if there is enough age and mileage on the gaskets.

The internal seals (apex seals especially) are what seal the combustion gases in the combustion chamber. When those wear out, the engine needs to be rebuilt. They can also be damaged due to improper tuning and improper performance modifications. When the seals are wearing out (especially on an original engine), the motor will start to lose compression. When the motor loses compression it makes less power, burns more oil and can flood when you attempt to start it.

If the engine wears out to a certain point you can have a catastrophic failure of a combustion seal rather than just having a weak motor with bad compression. When a catastrophic failure occurs, the engine rebuild is usually much more expensive because more parts need to be replaced.

most gaskets aren't meant to be reused, especially ones made of paper. exhaust gaskets can be reused sometimes depending on the condition

Woo... cool Homee.... Yuuu "Figerrred that SHIZnit!

****! Take your fingers out of your *******, and then type. I get annoyed at trying to read "hoodrat" or "Ebonics" on a damn car forum. But since I have been an dick to you twice in this thread:

Most people have no idea what they are talking about when they start spouting off about RX7s. Do yourself a favor, and take 99% of what people tell you they "heard" with a grain of salt. The main thing to know about your car before you start modifying... is that it is easy to blow the engine when you start modifying things. If you toss a boost controller on there and crank it up (without the proper supporting mods)... you will most likely damage your engine; very easily ending up with a catastrophic engine failure. The stock computer cannot deal with boost levels higher than stock. Lesson 1 complete.
