hey everyone i just had to spread the joy. I went to a car show in wallis texas and i was placed in the 90's class. i didnt think i was gonna win anything cause i had some pretty nice cars in my class. there were a total of 20 cars in our class one being a Dodge Viper GTS that was modded nicely with some startech goodies and alot of trans ams and corvettes with lots of polish and crazy *** paint jobs. i felt kinda outa place with me being the only import besides a Aston Martin. Once i was parked in my spot i cleaned off the dust and touched up some areas. Now my car isnt a show car it is a daily driver for me so everythig isn't as nice as i would like it to be, a couple of paint chips here and there. But i did start to draw a crowd once i popped my hood. i finished cleanin the car and put my voting number in my window and left to go look around. as the day finish up everyone went to the stage the hear the winners of the day. i on the other hand had went back to my car to get my fone as i walked up there a this hot girl looking at my car she had to atleast 21 cause she had a mixed drink in her hand, i went to open my door and she said i like u little red car. i was like thanx. no mind u as this is goning on they had called the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of 2000's and special interest groups. we started talking but then i heard "and the 1st place winner of the 90's class is a 1993 Mazda RX-7 owned by Ronald P. " i was like holy **** i got to go. so i run over grinning to pick up my award. i never got the girls number but i took 1st in te 90'class Woot Woot .

I lost here in Louisiana to a dirty *** 350Z with nothing done to it and a really dirty exterior/interior. Somebody was on their knees that day....

and yes just gotparts i did get it the wa it is and added the fmic, but my twin power and my aspec gt40r kit will be put in very very soon. I cant wait for it all to be done beside that i doing the body next. maybe the burnout fenders and a 99 front or something. i just want to keep it smiple.

Congratulations!!! I also came in 1st place at my firs show when I lived in Houston. I did'nt enter the show to show my car off. I was there to help a friend with the judging. I brought my car in so I could keep an eye on it but had to enter the show in order to do so. I had washed it before I went down but the inside was pretty dirty! After a few hours, I decided to go home 'cause I was getting a headache. Got home and a few hours later got a call from my friend to come pick up this 1st place trophy! This was in October of 2001

good job on the win. my car has won a best in class-Nissan Award (i dont know how either, i walked up to make sure it was right, and it was so i took the trophy and walked away), but i once lost to a Scion Tc with ugly rims and a upgraded head unit. this is why i'm keepin' it on the track and out of the car shows. plus, i'm sick of arguing the rotary concept with idiots trying to convince me that their Civic DX hatch can 'smoke my car.' i do have more fun at muscle car shows though, you'd be surprised how much respect the RX-7 gets. i guess it must be the older crowd. anyway, good luck on the project, it's lookin good.

 

thnx for all of yalls great support and yes i did wish i got her number but i have already gotten some numbers cause of my car. i had to make a group name "7lovers" on my fone to put them all in. yes the tank, jeep and vipers and the old car that had the 5.0 mustang engine in it where own by this really old guy that was rich as **** and is a trust fund baby. his tank was in the specail interst class and still got beat by one of those modded VW bug dunebuggy things.
