The 99 spec twins are abraided turbos which means you can push them harder (highter boost) therefore making more power. You can also have your stock twins made into BNR stage 3 turbos which also means you can run higher boost. Booth can remain in sequential mode or run parallel in non sequential mode. My buddy has the twins set up in non sequential mode and you actually make more lag then a single turbo. The only benefits of the twins is if you remain in sequential mode and spool faster. If you go single it will eliminate a lot of hoses and make quite a bit more power. So to answer your question if you are going to run non sequential just get a more reliable single turbo that will make more power and spool faster but if you want the only benefit that can be gained from the twins then run sequential and have the least amount of lag possible.

Would you care to elaborate on this and explain what "abraided" means?

Damn dude, when I'm setting someone up for a nut shot, don't spring the trap.

99 spec turbos .. better, but 15 hp kick is just based on boost

all at 6500 rpm

93, 255 hp, 9.1 psi
96, 265 hp, 9.1 psi (intake and exh upgrades)
99, 280 hp, 10.8 psi (+special turbos)

just based on boost increase, hp should be 265 x (14.7+10.8)/(14.7+9.1) = 284

lose a bit from heat.

The apexi turbos have the same deal, something about the blades of the wheel itself machine themselves perfectly to the housing. I read about it a while back. Lets see if i can dig up the old thread.
