I think I choked up an apex seal?
Okay, this afternoon I went to a turbo shop to get a silicon connector to replace the one that connects the crossover pipe and the pipe before it goes into the intercooler, for those of you familiar. This part, or hose I should call it, was about $35 from Mazda, so I found it for $7 at the turbo shop. Anyways, I put this hose on (about 3" X 3") and tightened it up, I pulled out and it felt much more powerful, because the stock hose I had on there had a 2" rip in it that was causing the underhood insulation to get a "rash" on it, this was the major boost leak of the car, allowing it to only put out about 4 pounds of boost. I may be an idiot, but ever since I bought this car it has had a boost leak, me being the idiot thought it was the turbo's and was soon going to get them rebuilt. So from 97,000 miles to 142,000 miles this boost leak got bigger and worse, but really slow and non-noticable differance. Okay, so I pulled out of the turbo shop and slowly got on 1st gear to about 4000 rpm, then hit 2nd and rose slowly to about 3000 rpm and then gave it some gas, it had about 8-10 pounds of boost, pulled up to a light, repeated the procedure, but taking 2nd to about 5500 to 6000 rpm, not trying to go buck wild on the engine, then hit 3rd, got to about 4500 and then stumble and big black (what I remeber) cloud of smoke then stumbled to a stop, I managed to roll off the road and pushed it into a parking spot. I can turn it over but it just stumbles, I think I broke the brittle apex seal. Are there any other reasonable solutions? Did I choke on a apex seal? My explanation is that for the last 40,000 or so miles were run on low boost because of the boost leak in the hose, causing the apex seals to not have as much pressure, then all of the sudden putting 8-10 pounds of boost on them would probably crack them. (or it) Please help, to make sure I'm not an *** and it's a spark plug or something, Thanks
P.S. - sorry for the long thread

If your getting 10psi boost, its not really that much, but if you got 142,000 miles on your car, perhaps it just let go.
So is it just cranking or does it actually start? (I'm always confused on what people consider turn it over)
Pull the sparkplugs and see how they look. ground them and crank the engine with the egi and fuel pump relay pulled to check how much spark you are getting. What is your fuel pressure? perhaps its a clog somewhere or something. It could be that your injector is stuck open or something... did you check the map sensor? Perhaps it popped off after the 10psi run (it seems like it always does).
Compression test is the last thing to do...

I'll be the first to state the first thing you should check..... the MAP sensor! Make sure you didn't blow the hose off of the map sensor when you were boosting. Its a little black box mounted to the firewall next to the master cylinder, and has a single vacuum line going to it.

Thanks, I'll have to go this afternoon and check because the car is about 12-15 miles away, I'll keep you posted, oh and thanks skunks I'll try the spark plug trick, And I can't say that it starts or just cranks, it is in between, it "starts" but LIKE its only running at 200-400 rpm, it just sputters down from there, also it shakes back and forth when trying to crank (big shaking), keep the replies coming

Sounds like you finnaly got enuf boost and popped off your map sensor. When this happens the car tends to run extremely rich fouling spark plugs and making alot of black smoke. You will have to reattach the map sensor, reset the ECU and replace the plugs. Do a search this has been eplained in detail numerous times.

Okay, here's the deal I went to Advanced Auto and got the spark plugs (NGK #9's Platinum) and they will come in tomorrow, Also is there anything I should do before I crank it with the new plugs in, pull the fuses reset the ecu, etc... or should I just give it crank?

I take it your map sensor line was ok? It wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery and reset the ECU. From your problem description, I doubt just changing the plugs will fix it.
