I think i blew my turbo..

well i was on my way home from my gf's house, came off and decided to let her rip, so i punched it in first then i just heard a loud "POP" like something just exploded and dumped off a lot of air. But the car (engine wise) was driving just fine it just wouldnt boost.. at all. From just driving around it sounds like a giant boost leak and its reading straight 0 on my boost gauge.I havent had a chance to look under the hood cause its midnight and im just way over tired and i need to sleep cause i got work at 6am. Ive dealt with boost leaks before its just usually a pipe or a silicone coupler that came loose but it would still build at least some boost. The thing im worried about is the big pop that started it. I work at a tire/rim/service shop so im just gonna bring my car into the garage and take a look at it while im on the clock tomorrow.. But like i said the motor itself runs fine and is driveable, i can hear alot of air blowing and the turbo like a big boost leak (which it probably is) but its the pop thats bugging me. Would a turbo blowing sound like a big pop wooosh? Ive never dealt with a turbo blowing on me before so i dont really know exactly how to tell while im driving with the exception of it not boosting. To be honest im hoping that it did, itll just mean i have to replace the twins with a 35r. Or maybe its just a boost leak and a pipe blew off its coupler and parts smacked together causing to pop idk, or worst case i blew an apex seal (i am a newbie to the rotary so i dont really know what to expect from that happening either) Basically i floored it in first heard the "pop woosh" and let off, the car still drove fine, its sounds like the turbo is spinning and just blowing air and building no boost at all. I will be checking it all out tomorrow.

The motor itself has about 30k miles on it out of an r1 cept i only have 1 oil cooler (if that makes any difference), mods are just bpu w/ ast, replaced vac lines, pfs smic, no ems atm, the guy i bought the car off of removed his pfc when i bought it. Im about 1600 miles since my last oil change (castrol gtx 20w50) and i just replaced the spark plugs a couple weeks ago.

I would just like some input and opinions from you guys and no flaming, i know im not some ase master tech or anything and im not going to front like i am, im still learning but im not a complete retard, so i just want some good honest feedback and no bs. And i apologize if this post sounds redundant and retarded and what not im struggling with putting words together into sentences haha. im extremely over worked, exhausted and cracked out right now,ive been working 13 hour shifts since monday so i apologize for my retarded-ness.

-Thanks

Still sounds like a boost leak. Good luck.

I had this happened to me before..zero boost. Turned out it was the coupler connected from the Y-pipe to the intercooler. Check it out, I bet it is some one the connections.

You'd be suprised how loud it can get when you blow a coupler off, sounds like that's what you experienced ... Like others said, just check it over for boost leaks, if your turbos are still spooling fine they definitly wouldn't be the cause of 0 boost.

I'm going with the something popped off scenario. If your turbos suddenly failed you'd have lots of oil burning off everywhere and you'd definitely notice it.
