I Put Too Much Transmission Fluid in my Car

I put too much transmission fluid in my car and now the car won't go into drive or reverse. What do I do? The transmission light did not come on.

I believe the proper way to fill your tranny is: fill till it comes out the fill hole, set the car level so that its full up to the drain hole and your done. how can you overfill it? did you fill it up with the car on its side??!?

i doubt your problem is the fluid level. is the car manual or auto?

No, I did not fill up with the car on it's side. I read the manual afterwards and it said that if you overfill it it will affect the transmission and the car may not run properly.

drain the oil and re-fill it to the proper level. then repot back if the shifting problems are still there.
