Hello to all! I just pulled my motor and found out where all that oil smell is coming from. There is oil coming out of the turbos i havent looked close to see where but maybe someone can tell me where its coming from.Do i have to rebuild to stop the leak or is it something i can repair. Please pm me or post a reply if you have any insight on this situation. thanks greg

where is the oil dripping from? bottom oil line, inside exhaust manifold, or from intake? you didnt hold them upside down for an extended period of time and then notice a leak?

Most likely the turbos are shot. If you see oil on the turbos that is. Bi-State Customs rebuilds them for $700 with a 1 year/15 K warranty.

Here is there number

Actually the turbos work great with no smoke at all . I havent looked to see where the leak is , are they known to leak oil from certain places such as oil lines etc. If you have dealt with this sort of problem ,let me know what you think. thanks greg

If they are leaking from the bottom, check the oil return lines. There are two oil return lines that go from the bottom of each turbo to the engine. They use metal gaskets that you should replace if they are leaking. The metal gaskets are sensitive so don't forget to use a torque wrench for the bolts and nuts.

Bi-State really needs a web site. I see all of these products, but no big list in one place.

Look in the turbine housings and if you see any oil then they're shot.

We're still working on a website but we've just been so swamped lately.

if you were getting the oil smell before you unhooked everything, and you didn't have a boost leak, then there's a reasonable chance that the oil is leaking from one of the oil pipes, and is drippind down onto the precat/downpipe. There are at least two possibilities, so more info is needed.

The oil is actually dripping onto the dp in little beads, thats where the smell is coming from . there is no smoke on start up even if the car sits for a month or better but there is a leak somewhere . Iwill check the oil lines and see what kind of shape they are in
