I've heard that the 99+ FDs have different sequential control system. A little "black box" instead all those feakin hoses. does anyone know if this is actually true?

I'd love to stay sequential, but I cannot stand the clutter. I'd gladly pay for a better control system with little to no clutter as long as it is somewhat reasonable.

If anyone knows about the sequential system on the 99+ cars, let's here what they have.

read the thread on the 460rwhp on the bnr turbos...the most recent one.

there are a couple pro racers in there that discuss it.

again..the lag is TOTALLY noticable. I might run non seq if i lived out of the city.

but as far as autox you will have little response out of the turns.

non seq is for the drag strips homies...and yall know it.

jason

ps..you can try running the poormans version to get a basic idea of what its like. if you are an autoxer then you are like me in a way...you want your power NOW and you want it as soon as you can get it. In my case I live in the crowded city and rarely drive in the upper rpms and in your case you need it as soon as you come out of a turn.
Well, I plan on auto-xing and road racing with little drag racing, so we'll see what kind of response I get on the BNR Stage 2 Top Secrets. I'm here at Steve Kan's place and he just assured me that I'll get very good response above 3k rpms and amazing response above 4k. We'll see soon.....

Hey Rich, are you going the NS route? If you are going for 500 rwhp it would be best - especially if all the bullcrap is removed (flapper door, etc) I thought I read somewhere you were staying seq though

pp13bnos: Maybe "ruling the road" is somwhat of an exaggeration - but among 99.5% of all cars out there...yes, with 400+ rwhp in a 2700 lb car with a powerband of 2700-8K rpms - this amount of power in a FD will rule the road along with the 10 and 11 second Fukked Over Rebuilt Dodges - there's always somebody faster - everyone knows that.

Love NS but will stand in my sequential corner with artguy

Well, to be honest, there all my brothers friends. Not only them but a handfull of supras. For the most part, you're pretty safe out here....mostly just rice.

But I guess I do live in a speedway. 30minutes from PIR, and 10 minutes from Woodburn dragstrip. CJ

all these straight runs where you can drive 100mph plus(which you need in order to enjoy your non seq power band)
c'mon man, we're talkin a 20-35 hp advantage for about 1500 rpm. For the avid autocrosser and 0-30 stoplight to stoplight races yeah sure. Other than that and no "fun" factor when you drive below 3500 rpms.......its not bad at all.

the joy in non seq is above the speed limit...thats a fact.

whether you are in town or on the highway...if yer enjoying the power band then you are speeding.
