I made a very dumb thing today

I wanted to burn some rubber while standing still and it started well, or so i though, cause after a few seconds it started to come out smoke from my front wheels. I immediately stopped and got out and i discovered that i had been burning my clutch instead.

My clutch is not slipping now however but it cleared is worn down a bit, although i cant feel it when i push it down.

This is the last time i will try such a dumb thing again before i can control my brakes better.

There is a great video of a Firebird or some other F-body doing that that went around on the internet a while ago. I think it used the MasterCard commercial format -- yada, yada, blah blah blah "priceless" (I forget what it said exactly). You might get a laugh out of it considering your recent experience. Everyone does something stupid from time to time; it is good to be able to find the humor in your mistakes.

Nothing beats my going down the quarter mile with the emergency brake half on............ By the time I noticed it I had already gotten the time slip and it read 13.01 on a fully worked Mustang.

The main thing is, did you feel cool while you thought it was your tires smokin? That's all that matters.. but, that baby is probably glazed over like a donut.

I have a new stock clutch you can buy for cheap.
