AST... needed or not...

I'm ready to rip out that little tank attached to my IC... is it really need or not... gimme your opinions... TIA

garfinkle takes them out and no one has a problem .It takes more time to bleed the air out . He has had his out for 6 years

Unless u know all about the cooling system, and it's state of health at all times, keep an alum ast, esp at high miles. it adds some forgiveness to system with lots of places for air to sneak in.

a 'mini ast' is an option, noted in cirian's site (newbie stuff). keeps fluid 100% full for me.

Besides adding more coolant to the system, the AST is said to remove little air bubbles from the coolant. These bubbles of air create little hotspots in your engine because air doesn't absorb heat as well as coolant does. I'd leave it in.
