I"m Going Single On My Fd What Out Of These Kits Is Best?
Right now I'm about to do a full rebuild and i'm outting a single turbo on my fd, what out of these two kits is the best and why? First kit, the A'PEXi Isamu RX6 Single Turbo Kit V.S. the GReddy T88 Single Turbo kit? what do you think
My car already has a street port, while it is apart should I do a bridge port, and maybe funny ? but what is a bridge port?

read the faqs.
there is a single turbo section, there is also a section where people post up their set ups as well as their dynos.
if you don't know what something is, you probably shouldn't do it now should you

The rx6 is not a large turbo. It will have good spool on the street with moderate power. I believe it is similarly sized to a gt35r while a t88 is very larger and very laggy but will make some serious power. It depends what you want out of your car?
Well said; there will be a HUGE difference between the rx6 and the t88.

Those are about the two extremes as far as turbo options. I'd say you would eventually get bored with the limited power the RX6 puts out, and also get tired of the the laggy response of the T88 on a street car.
So... go for the middle ground, and get the 500R kit from A-Spec. You get great response without the lag, and when properly tuned is capable of over 500 hp to the wheels.

Where could I take a look at that kit? Intense power motorsports built a rx6 kit fd and it turned 450 and they said it spulled fast! ? is that the typ of power the rx6 can put out? or is it mutch less,.... O and yeah every body I already have my 750 primary and 1300cc secondary fuel system.

Everyone says the RX6 is a good kit because it spools so quickly, but people who buy it normally say they either wish they'd gone bigger or just stayed stock. You just can't easily get the power most people want out of it. So really, you have to ask yourself what you want out of the car. Do you want to drag race it? If so, bigger's always better. Do you want to autox? A bigger turbo will not help you in autox as you will have no time to build boost in between turns. Will you just run it on the street every once in a while? Get something in the middle, like a GT35r kit which isn't huge but isn't small either.
Not to mention if anything goes wrong with the RX6 turbo you are pretty much screwed when it comes to rebuilding them. Those things are not cheap either. IMO the RX6 is not worth it.
I am working on my T04R setuop but I wish I had went with the T04Z. With its increase in popularity and the fact that they are more readily available without having to go through HKS. To me the T04Z the best way to go unless you get a specific A-Spec unit.

Both turbo kits are old school. Much better technology now with all the new turbo kits. Like stated prior. Check out A-Spec's turbo kits. You'd be better off with the GT35R , 500R, GT40R, or a Borg Warner S300 for the street. The T88 sucks on the street. I had it. And the Apexi kit is old, outdated and not reliable. I know a few people that went through oil seals with them and they can't be rebuilt easily. Go with something differernt. As far as porting, you'll get alot more power with the bridgeport and pair it with water injection for more reliability.

The RX-6 kit won't make 550 at the motor, let alone at the back wheels.
If you plan to run less than 20 psi, look into the A-spec T4 GT35R or Gotham Racing GR63. If you plan to run more than 20 psi, look into the A-spec 500R or the Gotham Racing GR67.

Where do you guys come up with your power quotes from? This guy needs accurate info, not inflated power numbers.
Just forget the RX6. Its junk and won't make but a couple more horsepower then the stock twins.

the gotham racing g63 kit is amazing. son of a bitch pulls like a bat out of hell.

Bridgeports are VERY lumpy....it won't ever idle nicely (or below 3k with any normality for that matter) and to even drive it 'normally' is hard work. When you weigh up the performance perks and then turning your car into something that's not a very good every-dayer, i'd stick to either a large street port or a medium street port.
No doubt there will be people on here saying they have bridge ports with no problems but all the ones i've worked on/known are great for the initial wow.....but to live with everyday are a complete pain.
As for turbo....I have a T78 set up and was warned this was quite laggy....but this was always told to me by people with uprated twins (they also had major boosting issues
) or people who hate lag and go for smaller singles....even though they tend to get bored and go bigger in the end anyways....(they normallt boost up about 3.4k so it's not that bad...)
So it depends on what you want/where you live.
If you want a torquey car go for the smaller turbo......if your on the open road and hate that feeling when something pulls away from you and there is sweet **** all you can do about it....go for the 88....
Just my 2 pence worth....
