I love my FD (another Good Running Thread!!!)

Hey guys… wanted to start another thread not centering on issues/problems, but on good things/praises, regarding our FD. Most, if not all of the time, we read/post threads on problems that our FD's have, giving it a mostly negative feel to us and other folks. Let's show them what a good running FD can do! Here's mine…

It was a cool morning, high 50's, low 60's maybe… started her up, let her idle for about 5 minutes, ran in to get the rest of my stuff ready for work. Just detailed her this weekend, so she was ready to see the world Took the back roads today… felt like getting a morning rush before work. It was 6:30… sun was just starting get higher above the horizon. Back roads just happened to be going east/west, and I was heading east. Shades on, foot on the throttle, and I was gone. No cops around, so I started to GO. She was pulling really nice and smooth. Nothing like a smooth running turbo rotary, don't you say? Shifted around 6000 rpm, I was up to about over 100 in 4th… what a rush. Roads curved a little bit, downshifted, braked as I approched the turn, took it easy, and then gunned it again as I exited… wow… I'm sure you guys can relate, but that NEVER gets old After the back road run, it was into the city, where speed wasn't really possible… then I get to the other reason why I love my FD… folks ogling at it as I drive by … that never gets old either. I get to work, park in my usual spot, away from everybody, at an angle (no door dings), and I am ready for another great day at work!!!

Have a good day everybody!

Hooray for healthy FD's!

On another note, I can't see anything in your sig, maybe you should make it bigger.

nice car, but you MIGHT want to consider making the pictures in your signature a bit smaller

lol... sorry guys... just finally got a photobucket account, but didn't realize it was that big. I will be updating the sig!

But hey, anyone else got good running stories of their FD's? Surely, I can't be the only one with a healthy FD

My FD's been running great for a while now, but it took some work to get it here. I drive it every day, as a consultant, at least 400 miles a week. This is on a half-bridge with a T66 in the desert, and no temp issues either. Its not the most ideal daily driver but she starts and runs great with no problems at all. My only complaint is the gas mileage but that comes with the territory if you don't drive like a grandma.

well currently my car is like a see saw, sometimes it runs perfectly, then sometimes there will be some little things that wont work or worry me..

i just love the attention at red lights, or when people pace me on the city streets or highways to look at my car..its a good feeling..

I have had my fd for 4 months now and drive it daily; around 300km per week.
I had it serviced once by mazda and it runs like a dream, couldn't be happier.
I was worried about buying an fd after reading many many threads on this forum regarding cooling issues and engine failure, but in a world full of supra's skyline's sti's and silvia's the fd was totally unique in performance and looks.

Everytime I jump in for a drive I'm reminded why I bought it and just how much better it is than any other car iv ever driven., ever..

Get it up and runnin'! We need more FD's on the road than in shops...

Nothing compares to the FD, in terms of looks and drive...

well ive only had mine for a month now, but wow! im glad i decided not to work for the summer, now i get to spend my days with it lol.

but the feeling is great when your walking towards your fd, and knowing your driving a rare car makes it even better. i also love the no door handles on the body/paint makes it look really smooth

Then theres when your driving it, goin from a non turbo 2nd gen eclipse to this, big diff! just taking off is so fun, and very Comf. to drive esp. with the whole arem rest center thats goin on.

also with owning this car and being from a very small town (no turbo cars around, lol) i get alot of looks and compliments, and when im at shows i get alot of questions about it.

yea ins. went up, gas here for me is just about $3 a gallon, but its deff worth it in te end, i have to regrets in buying it (comming from someone thats deff not rich lol)

Mine isn't giving me any running issues... But then again, there is no engine in it. Hopefully I'll get the engine back on Wednesday...
