So I take the car out for a brief 10 minute ride a little while ago, before the big storm hits. I drive north a bit and see a few specks of rain on my windshield, so it's time to head home. I'm a mile from my driveway and it's warmed up, I'm in second and I just finished getting everything tuned up last week, so I think I'll stomp on it a bit. 4000 RPM, boost creeps to about 14 psi, and POP.
I do believe that was the end of that engine. No more boost, exhaust sounds like one rotor, and I got a nice tap tap of something trashing the rotor housing. At first I thought I blew a boost hose, but nope. I'm waiting for the car to cool down so I can pull the plugs and check the seals as well as to a comp. test, but it looks like beast v1.0 is officially dead for the summer.

Creep, spike, no. It was me playing with turning the boost up. I had everything stable and hauling *** at 13psi, I was going for 14. I got 14 allright It wasn't a det issue, I have plenty of fuel. I just think it was a tired motor... it was the original engine with about 70k. My boost controller is the custom made ball-spring type, with a ceramic ball. Works very well, very stable.
I did pull the rear leading plug and it sure is dead. I think I ate all three apex seals, cause I don't have even a puff from the rear. Front's fine tho. Oh well, I'm not at all upset about it... I was waiting for it to pop. Now it's time for a nice big port job. I actually hope that I ate the rear turbo, so I have an excuse to do twin GT28R's!!! It will be a while though, I don't have a lot of cash on hand right now.

im sure, ill be beating a dead horse..
but why???
why run two turbos nonsequentially, and do all the extra fabrication and work.
when you could have a very nice BIG single set up??
What kind of times were you running with the twin set up??
if you got that far.
