I just bought one!

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but I just bought a 94 R2 today from a local dealer. I guess its a bit high priced...the car has 55k miles but i got it at the kbb price of ~17k. What do you think? Both the interrior and exterrior is in very good shape and the engine is strong.

Congratulations and welcome! Sounds like a fair price to me for a Cali car, if it's in good condition.

Please tell me you got a compression check before picking it up. The engine may "seem" strong (depending on what your previous car was), but it's right at that "magical" mileage where people start to get worried (60K or so). Seeing as it was picked up at a dealer, any chance you got a warranty with it?

Enjoy the car. They're incredible to drive, absolutely incredible.

wow nice...I have been looking in California for one for awhile now with no results. What color is your car? 17k seems like a good deal for a r2 with relatively low miles. I am about the pick up a r1 for 17-18

do yourself a favor and go to the regional forums and find a rotary specialist near you. then take the car in to have them check it out.

i don't trust any used cars bought from a dealer especially an FD...

The only thing wrong with it was that it was idling funny and the dealer is going to replace a sensor for me before he ships it up (like 55 miles away)... He seemed to be legit and know his rotaries. The car is completely stock so thats a good sign. I took a chance on this car, cuz the body is in great shape and the interrior is nice as well, and the engine is as strong as any other rx7 I test drove. It should be here tmrw afternoon so I will definitely post some pics.

oh yeah, no warranty but I've read warranties that other dealers offered though. Funny thing, in a very fine print, it says that the warranty dont cover cars with twin turbos

Damn, first mod to your car should be save some money for either rebuilt engine of new turbos, I have a hunch one or the other wull go out soon, actually I guess both.
