dont compare the s2000 to the rx-7. they are different beasts. ones a true sports car, pulling a sub 14 second quarter, pulling almost a G laterally, and requiring lots of attention and maintenance. the other is a convertable, a beautiful car and undoubtably well engineered. comparing the 2 is like comparing a corvette z06 to an m roadster. yes you can compare them, but what are you ultimately going to draw from your comparison? both great cars, but they cater to a different niche.

lets not start rx7 vs s2k **** again...s2k runs 13.8 in the 1/4 mile rx7 13.5 using the same magazine i am not sure how u coiunt but i only get .3 sec diffrence here. and are u forgettign that the 1.3 liter has 2 turbos to make some tq? or is tq not important? how long has hond abeen making something with a driveshft? how long has mazda? and do i relly need to go over all the rx7 problmes. these are diffrent cars somewhat but close enouf to be related. obvioulsy rx7 is faster in everyway then teh s2k but the s2k is not far behind. esp for being NA and a conv. that only has a clutch probelm which i am still not sure that it is a problem. if you launch anything at 9k rpm which is pretty much required to run the 13.8 woudl destroy the clutch a lot faster then normally driving the car. so please go take teh pounding somewhere else and dont talk **** about the s2k

haha you cant release a car at redline dude, i dont know if youve driven an s2k or just dream about them. torque? TORQUE? the s2k doesnt even put 160 lbs/feet down dude! why do you think you have to launch that car at 5000rpms? dude seriously now, i love the s2k, its a gorgeous automobile and almost as unique in its engineering as my 3rd gen. but seriously i just looked it up, a comptech charger close to 5 grande. your talking about a set up which will easily cost over 40 grande for this kid, when he can have a 3rd gen with all the bpu's for like under 25gs. i dunno why pay more for less?

for a stock car the rx-7 out torques the s2k by exactly 67lbs/feet. decent size difference.

im done. go join an s2000 forum, sell your rx-7s, and buy a s2000 and be merry. take your s2k preaching elsewhere, this is an rx-7 forum dedicated to our love of the rotory. BTW that kid that started this thread? he already owns a 3rd gen so whats the point playing the s2k card at this point? go to sleep whatever, this is really quite stupid cause your not going to convince me or anyone else in here thats a 3rd gen owner that an s2k is better.

S2K's are slow and ugly. IMHO. Again realize this is only an opinion. Here are the reasons for my opinion.

A.) I've never seen a S2K that actually turned out to be worth the $$ invested(performance wise).

B.)A FD looks alot better IMO then a S2K.

C.) Going back to A.) I've never seen/heard of a S2K that was even remotely fast. Yeah 13's even high 12's are good, but not for 40k(30k + mods)

S2K's are good if you are a yuppie with alot of money and watch TFATF alot. Face it as you said yourself, who wants a car with no torque? Another words a car that probably wouldn't get out of it's own way pulling away from a stop light. Having to launch at 9000rpms like you said should be proof of the "no torque" factor. With all the Mugen this, and Comptech that you recommended this guy will be spending 35k-40k for what kind of performance? Not even close to being "bang for the buck"

Honestly this is the argument that goes on in forums nation wide. Kids arguing about how much faster a Henessy Viper is because they are in love with it but will never own it, due to the price tag. Think about the FD you could build for the cost of this Supercharged S2K... And back to the BOTTOM LINE... This kid ask a question and you guys are using his thread for arguing. Frankly I think this kid desperately needs help if his initial mods are racing seats, harnesses, shift *****, and the like.

Honestly, pedal covers are not going to help you whatsoever. You need to step back and realize what your CAR needs, not what will make your friends say, "hey that tricked out interior is silly fresh, dog". For the price of your precious racing seats you could fix many of the problems that are associated with the FD. Assuming you do the work yourself...on second thought dont do that... Where exactly is HERE? Find out if there is a good rotary mech in your area and have him take a look at your car. Dont ask people what mods you should do, chances are if you are doing this, you wont be able to handle the extra power these mods produce. And finally CKECK OUT ROB ROBINETTES SITE!
I dont know why this is not required reading to be able to post, but hey... Wow what am I doing this for at 1:30?....
