Question i have an insurance ?

hey guys, i searched for insurance info and found little to none. where would you go to get insurance on your highly valued fd with thousands of dollars of modifications to it. i would like to hear from some of you on hear that have their fd's insured for over 25k. i could only get 19k out of my current insurance company and i need 24k plus. any help would be appreciated.

thanks, mark

My FD is insured as a collector car through Grundy Insurance, with the folks at Northwest Classic Insurance as agents.

I have wawanesa insurance

My car is insured for 45K and of course I pay extra for my modifications. I basically had to catalog every mod with receipts and present them to my insurance. An adjustor took pictures and verified my mods. Then a new premium was set for my special equipment.

Don't just say "I want full coverage" as they only cover average price of the car. If you want them to cover mods then you have to pay for that.

My carrier is Hagerty's. I have agreed value for $30K and my premium is around $825. You need to read the fine print to see if there are any driving and/or use restrictions. Some carriers that issue agreed value limit the same. Hagerty's does not limit mileage although it limits use at track events.

I pay 130 a month ($1560 a year) for two cars. $500 deductible for the 7 and the other one (daily) has liability only.

yeah my current insurance company is wanting to hit me for 2k a year only for 19k worth of coverage and i'm not even in the country to drive the car. it will sit in storage until sept. and then i will only get to work on/ drive the car for three weeks until i come back overseas. 130 a month would be awsome, but i recently purchased my new fd and i do not have receipts for all or any of the mods that came with the car. do you guys know if it is possible to go online and find the same items and make print outs of current cost and they will take that into consideration?

thanks, mark

dave every reciept you ever get my insurance lady is a friend of mine and she says that untill my car is old enough to be considered a classic or collector car this is the only way i will get most of my money back. also my buddy just totalled is 95 s14 with a RB25det and a bunch of mods proggressive was the other person's insurance and they were at fault they only wanted to give him 3000 before buy back he presented roughly 10k worth of reciepts and they gave him 8k with a 900 $ buy back he got a 7100 $ check and still has his engine and most of the mods minus the intercooler and radiator that were destroyed.

Do you have a contact for Hagerty's? I just got shot down this morning, was told that the car really doesn't qualify, is too new. Car is garaged, driven maybe 500 miles/year at most.I guess I could try again, but would like to know how others get insured through them but I can't?

Send me a PM or just post here if you want.

Thanks,

Rob.

The only good thing about being over 50 is that I can insure my toys cheaply.
