i hate this exhaust
http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/3catalog.cgi?cat=4&part=5
The Trust J spec racing exhaust. I hate it. There doesn't seem to be a baffle in the cannister. This is the loudest exhaust I have ever heard. I am borrowing my friends apex gt spec right know I love it. If anyone is interested in a really buzzy exhaust let me know. The exhaust was on my car when I purchased it. I have seen hks supper draggers on parts trader for really cheap. Do they really flow that bad? Just an old design? any halp would be great need to get rid of the ear plugs

If noise is a problem, you might look into the Racing Beat Dual Tip:

Quite pricey, but quality design and easy on the ears.

change your midpipe to a www.vrsexhaust.com stainless steel muffled midpipe.
i use one.. sounds just a little louder than stock. most people cant believe i'm running dp, mp, and a canister exhaust.

If that exhaust comes with a midpipe, it will sound pretty nasty unless the midpipe is resonated. the GT-Spec is only a catback. Some of those Japanese racing exhausts come with mp/cb combos. Those two exhausts shouldn't sound that different unless one is with a straight midpipe.

Yeah, I ran an older Trust many years ago. Great for flow and noise as long as I had my main-cat in place. With a midpipe WAY too loud, even got black flagged at Laguna Seca for noise.
I switched over to the RB (R*SR) unit. Better constructed, and much quieter.

the super dragger is not bad at all. There was a right up on it about how it flowed really bad, but the guy who wrote it had no idea what he was doing. Personally, I have had 3 exhausts and the dragger was close to the best. I like the apexi n1 dual, dragger, then tanabe in that order based on feel of performance.

Stay away from the Peter Farrell polished SS cat back. It looks beautifull but is very noisy. Non-seq at idle with DP and resonated MP, I measured 95db at 3 feet from the tip.

yes its a straight through design. full 3". the muffler and piping is full stainless so its very light.
another friend is running bridgeport single turbo.. its not obnoxiously loud either.
sounds deeper and smoother than when i had the cat in.
compared to my friend who's running a straight through midpipe his drowns out both of our exhausts idling next to us.
one who owns a rotary shop here in san diego decided to go with the borla xr-1 muffler. its a little louder than mine. he's gonna go with this style to quiet his down even more.
if your worried about fit and quality.. it fits perfect..
if you buy this piece.. turn on your car before you put it in... because after you turn it on when your done.. you'll be like.. "whoa... that's a huge difference"
