I got a bov question...
I just picked up a used blitz bov. Came with flange for the twins. Put it on, take her for a drive, and.... *waits for nice "pffffsst" sound*.... nothing. Sounds not very different from the stock bov. Any ideas why? Running stock boost I didn't expect a big change, but at least some. It was selling for a good deal so I figured why pass up a low price when I'd be getting on in the near future anyway. With the stock tubing there wasn't a whole lot of option on how/where to put it, so the horn is facing down while it's sitting next to the intake pipe. Would that make a difference? Am I missing some important, very obvious, part of installing it? Any help is much appreciated!

Hmmm... this sucks. My buddy had one on his FC. He did a TII swap and on stock boost it sounded pretty good. Oh well. I'm more concerned with it's practical use down the road than being loud. As for setting the spring rate, can anyone point me where I'd find instructions to do that? Since it's used it didn't have any. I assume it's that little nut next to the vacuum nipple, but if it is I don't know which way to turn for heavier and lighter setting.

I left it pretty tight, the way it came, to avoid screwing it up by not knowing which direction was which.

Adjusting the spring rate can make a big difference. My friend has the Turbo XS RFL, and you can have anything from a loose spring (loud CHOOOO!!!) to a heavy spring (short phsst!). Sounds to me like you need to tighten the spring up to make it heavier. I'm not familiar with the Blitz BOV adjustment though sorry.

Which version of the bov do you have? The new one or the old one with the trumpet end? I have the older one and it's really loud. Blowing off at 3psi is louder than the stock one at 10psi. I think mine is set low because it will blow off in vacuum.

My friend switched from the HKS SS to the RFL, and the HKS was louder. Maybe it was just because it was so piercing and high pitched though. The RFL is a whole different sound. It's cool to be able to see the valve open up too.

Eh, I'm not too happy with this Blitz. Im gonna go get me an RFL. Kinda hoped for one that works well and isn't a pos AND is somewhat loud. But at least is works well so it'll do for now.
