I was going to get a Celica... [PICS!]

...but then I saw this.

I was looking at buying a Celica GT-S just to get something nicer and better than my 1996 Thunderbird V8. Well I went to Central Florida Toyota and test drove one, I loved the looks and feel of the car but on the way back in to look at the paperwork I saw a 1994 FD in the corner of my eye, so I asked the salesman with a smile, 'Whats that!?'. I drove it and needless to say it was better than the GT-S, so I walked away with it instead.

Montego Blue exterior / Tan Leather interior

I really wanted a manual, but to be honest this is the best feeling auto I've ever experianced, I am quite content with it as is.

Anyways, pics!

Congrats on the new car. Use the search function if you have any questions about your new car. The topic has probably been covered before.

Nice ride. If you like the auto, drive a manual. From what people say that did the swap, it is a whole different car

This isn't the car to ask what it is, and then buy it so quickly. But good luck anyway.

T-Bird to RX... That's a hell of a jump. I wouldn't think that people who owned one would be interested in the other.

Good luck with the car.

It was a joke to the salesman, I know much of RX7's, they are my favorite of all cars. I however gave up on finding one for awhile since they are so rare in my area. I also gave the car a thorough look over before and after purchasing it. All checked out.

Welcome to the club. I hope you did some research on the RX7 before you decided to buy it. Its a awesome car, but does require great attention. It needs to be treated like an exotic car, not a Toyota. Other than that it stirs emotions!

Eh, I have a 4.6L Tbird, and they are pretty nice cars.

-RWD
-Low end torque
-IRS
-Leather
-Auto Climate control
...etc.

Anyways, I saw your post on the HardForum -- I guess you like spamming.

Yes Walien, I'll ***** it up some more with the better pics too as soon as they finish the update.

Sticker was 17.9K, I worked them down to 13.5K + 2K trade-in. So essentially.

Like I said I have been a FD fan for a long time and I'm well aware of what I've gotten myself into, and I love it. When I told my brother I bought an RX7 he just said, "Well, you'll learn your lesson with a rotary..."

I have some good plans for this car but AFTER I pay her off... until then the only mods I'm doing is all Efini badges + center caps... where would be a good place with a good price to pick those up?

i should hope the first thing you do is the "reliability mods" as these are cheap, and are essential to ensuring a longer life out of your engine.

Do a search for "reliability mods" and you will find out more about these:

1) Downpipe
2) AST
3) Boost, Water Temp gauges
4) New Radiator

Then get your badges and centercaps.

Welcome to the addiction. Its like Crack or a newborn. Requires constant attention and needs to be fed incessantly!

What does the downpipe and AST do for 'reliability'? I guess I'll find out when I search in a bit. EDIT: nasty cat... yum reading!

As for the guages I plan to add them soon, I want guages that look very stock so I may go with the Delfi from RX7store. I also need to see if my recalls have all been completed by the previous owner and need to reroute an oil line I heard was a fire hazzard against the exhaust.

Thanks for the warm welcomes and the information.

~Kris

15.9k is kind of expensive for an auto rx7. Especially if its the original motor. I hope you got a warrenty for the car. You prolly could have picked that same car up for around 11-12k from a private owner. if you got a good extended warrenty, then i guess it doesnt matter. If you dont have an extended warentee, you are in for a not so pleasant surprise. I hope this car isnt your daily driver. Good luck, and start saving your money for when you need to replace the motor. Do all the reliability mods.
