I will be doing all the reliability stuff, shouldnt cost more than 500 or so... all recalls were done and it was a one owner car from what info I just gathered after a few phone calls.

The price was 17.9 with a 2k discount and 2k on my car, I dont think I got jacked at all... especially with the milage. Most FD's I've seen were 80-120k... and no warranty, original motor as well. All work was done by a Mazda dealer in exception to oil changes, the plugs/wires were done at the dealer.

For this area, RX-7's are rare, and their value is high.. auto or not they still typically go for 13-15k, I've never seen a Florida one sell for lower in this condition.

Mostly it is hard to imagine because you are going from a roomy car with lots of storage space to a cramped one with almost none.

I don't think most people would be willing to give it up. I could see it as a second (or third) car though.

The RX is my primary car when I am up at school, but I do have two cars when I go back home. Honestly, I don't mind giving up the space, as I really never used it that often anyways.

Same here, it was an adjustment in the location of said stuff but I still have plenty of room to spare in the FD. The Thunderbird was wasted space for me, my laptop sat in my pass. seat and my phone/wallet/sunglasses sat in the dash. I never hauled people around other than the GF so I'm not missing the rear-seat anymore either.

I'm gonna get the Efini Y-pipe, AST tank, S.S. downpipe and possibly an upgraded radiator. That and my badges should be suitable mods for now, to keep the car running nicely... once money allows I'll invest in a MazdaSpeed intake and HKS FMIC for added safety. FMIC's will typically mount without any 'trimming' wont they?

The mods above sound nice, but a FMIC isn't just a "bolt-on" mod. There are many issues that surround it (fitment/blocking the radiator/etc.)

Personally, the *best* mod you could probably get for an Auto FD is an auto->manual swap.

Ah man, the pulled the old, we guarantee $2,000 for your trade in and then we jack the price up $2,000, trick. Oh well, IMO I think that it is still a fair price for a car that only has 58,000k on it. Treat it well and welcome to the club.

Just read around these forums and do some searching for topic issues before you post - you might find what you need first. Sad for the auto tranny but overall, nice car and good find! Welcome to the club.

Hey, I still love my T-bird! I went from my T-bird into my FD, but the T-bird is a daily driver. Then I picked up my Talon to fill the role as my new daily driver, but I'll drive the 'Bird until it dies. My wife's Cherokee is great too, wouldn't take anything else offroad.

My FD is the be-all and end-all for me, but the other vehicles are great in their own right.

Congrats on the FD!
