this bracket was rusted on my last car and this car with low miles

so they were going for low weight huh?? this bracket is 2lbs and it was holding 1 connector and these 2 lines that my hand is on. Does anyone know if those 2 lines really need to be supported?? Im going to make a bracket anyway and bolt it to the closest hole 3 inches away. Feels great to have that pos out and saves me weight and work painting it. Does anyone know if its ok that I pulled the resevoir out of the big black circle? there was an o ring in there and I pushed the whole thing back in place seems fine.

I tore this bracket a new ***!! you have to have all the brake stuff out to remove it without tearing it into 2.

Thats the one I was thinking it was.

As far as the master cylinder being pulled out of the booster,. As long as you did not move any of the adjustments on the push rods while it was out, You " shouldn't" have a problem.

Otherwise it is a speacial tool required to set the clearance of the push rod to the master cylinder inside the booster.

I have had mine out on the FD and FC and no problems when I put them back in.

push rods? I just pulled the assembly out for a sec to get the bracket out and then popped it back in. better not have damaged anything...I really doubt it.

I feel so relieved that thing is out of there haha Im going to throw it in the saltwater behind my house tomorrow so it has a slow misserable life as it rusts away!!

Sometimes it doesnt matter how many miles it has. These cars are all getting pretty old. either way, good luck.

hey it would not have rusted if the **** box was not parked next to the ocean for 4 months! why did you pull the master out? did you pull any lines off or just pull it out a bit to get some space to clean behind it?

Mako Racing go **** yourself!!! Everyone will hate this ******* bracket!! This will be everyones first mod from now on to remove this bracket and bend it and **** all over it like its toilet paper

Anyway bingo, I pulled it out for some clearance and then it went right in. Do you think those 2 lines need to be stiffened up by a bracket? I dont understand why the huge heavy bracket for a connector and those 2 lines????????????????????

Doesn't that bracket hold the hard lines in place so they don't move under hard breaking pressure???

They are there to hold them in place, However I do not think that the lines will flex without it there. If the metal lines are flexing you have bigger problems at that point . and your rubber lines are doomed.

Be nice and do not hurt yourself . David just had that part powercoated silver with the brakebooster . He put the booster in upside down to hide the vacuum line . He also put in a 929 master cylinder with out changing any lines .Jeremy polished the cylinder . Things look better with out all that black .All the new hard vacuum lines are silver as well .

Big Al yur right it must do something!! I hate tearing into stuff from stock it was really an accident. I was trying to carefully remove it when I realized thats not going to happen. Took a step back and looked at what its function was and decided the condition of it was not suitable for my engine bay. I know the connector will be ok haha but Im worried about those hardlines so I made a bracket tonight for them which is about 2 ounces!

and here is my custom bracket to hold those 2 lines in case they needed support. Lost a lot of weight and uglyness since the stock bracket setup was removed. I think i'll giev myself a good squeeze of the nipples after this turnout.

I've painted a few things in my engine bay with 900 degree vht caliper paint

enjoy or aloha as dave would say

Yanni, I pulled mine out also to rebuild the Master Cylinder. Geez you'd think that damn thing was designed for the space shuttle or something! Over engineered from my point of view. Anyway, I was thinking of getting it powered coated but since seeing this thread maybe I'll just put my cutting torch to good use!

I feel your pain!
