I'm doing a 5speed swap and was lucky enough to buy my transmission from a guy who also had this to offer...

I'm jealous.

EDIT: BTW, where did you get the tranny? I may be in the market for one in a few months.

Yeah, after she hit 120k miles she started to have self-esteem issues, but she's better now.

I got tranny from a guy here on the forum, 19k original miles.

Apparently the memory for the mileage readout is in the cluster and not in the ECU?

It's not in the ECU, but it may be on the on-board computer.

It's on the cluster. I've sold quite a few clusters, and the last mileage on the cluster prior to sale is the mileage going into the new owner's car, permanently

You could get it reset, but why would you care about what it says

Reset to zero, or to any desired mileage (to pick up where your stock cluster left off)?

I tired to search for this earlier and I know there is a problem with some FD's and tach's jumping around due to a cold solder joint but is there any way you can just swap the tach out from a good cluster and not replace the whole thing? Any links are appreciated.

Those three should cover everything, writeup, pics, diagram, the works

PS: Oh and yes, you can just replace the tach. It's kinda expensive tho IIRC.

Well after driving around some today, one thing I noticed was that my oil pressure guage moves a hell of a lot better . The old one was really jerky and used to get stuck in place, sometimes at 0. The oil pressure gauge on this new cluster fluctuated very smoothly though.
